These people cant get a order right to save their life. Oh lets not talk about getting it delivered, ha you might as well not even hold you breath. This is by far the worst place to experience breakfast food or customer service.

Long wait to get in, which Iâm not a fan of, but for this food and experience and meeting Joe, whoâs a great guy, I would do it again. The omelette and grits are what I got and they were out of this world.

Simple Joe is an old school diner feel. This environment is a Baton Rouge staple. Everything was flawless in our experience other than ordering - the individual taking our order looked absolutely thrilled to be working.
We enjoyed the ambience, the chefs were absolutely classic and super friendly. Definitely either get a pancake or French toast to go with your breakfast.
I ordered the Salmon omelette with bacon and toast. The pancakes were the hit, so fluffy and did not weigh on your stomach. Hashbrowns were old school southern and traditional along with the sausage biscuits and gravy. Give it a shot for a classic Americana breakfast in a delightful hole in the wall. đ„ đ„

I ordered the meal that includes a pancake, grits eggs and your choice of meat. I chose sausage. The grits were the best. No seasoning or additional butter was needed. The pancake was my least favorite. I did not like the way it tasted. The eggs were ok they did need seasoning. I'm not sure what type of sausage it was but it kind of tasted like andouille. I would visit again to try some of the other menu items.

When we left The Queen, itâs was 7:30AM. We were both hungry for breakfast, but not interested in Waffle House, so I did a quik search of the area and opted for the Simple Joe Cafe. They have a self-serving counter, where you stand in line, give your order, pay, get a number for your table, fix your drink, and find a place to sit. They werenât extremely busy so we got a table with no problem. I loved the energy in this place. It felt very friendly and had a close-nit neighborhood vibe. I can tell they have a lot of regulars. The only things I can really complain about are 1. It was pricier than what I expected, but everything is nowadays. 2. The young gentleman who rang us up seemed a little rude and I really didnât care for his attitude. He didnât say anything wrong, he just didnât make us feel welcomed. He definitely didnât match the vibe in this place because he wasnât friendly at all. Compared to the rest of the experience, he stuck out like a sore thumb. As for the food, I got the two egg scrambled breakfast with grits, bacon, and French toast. The eggs and grits were amazing but I didnât care for the French toast at all!! This is the first time Iâve had grits at a restaurant that makes them the same as I do, using milk and real butter. They were cooked to perfectionâŠthey were soooo good! We both agreed to stop here again the next time weâre in the area. Though Iâd usually give 3 stars, especially bc of the unwelcoming attitude I received, everything else made up for that so I added an extra one.
