“First, I’ve been in Baton Rouge for 2 years. And Dorthy’s was one of the first soul food restaurants I’ve tried…. Trust me, I’ve tried all that I could think of and find on TikTok and ig and Google lol… Anywhom Dorthy’s is STILL the BEST! Each time I go they never disappoint and the ribs Mac and cheese yams and EVERYTHING on the menu is truly amazing! You gotta try them!“

“I have never actually eaten food that fulfills my soul. This place is definitely the definition of SOUL FOOD!!! The amazing people that cook these dinners are truly full genuine spirits and those spirits are felt in their cooking. I use my Louisiana hot sauce on EVERYTHING and with this food here I don't even use a dash! If I could give millions stars for service, atmosphere,and food I would!

“A lovely little restaurant serving authentic Cajun cuisine. While some of the food was good, unfortunately it did not sit well with our palate. “One worker inparticular was rude and wasn't focusing. They call numbers her not a food item. So I was there for a bit and a guy ordered a shrimp poboy, she called my number and reached me the bag, I took it, then the guys asks for his food. She says the lady took it, and left, and her boss says why? She says idk, 🙄 I said no ma'am, I didn't leave and you called my number and gave it to me. She says no I said shrimp poboy, no ma'am, because I would Never have taken it. So he asked me for it and I said sorry sir, but you'll need to get it from her, she already lied and said I took it, she's not gonna say I gave it away. So she takes it back, and then proceeds to call my number again, After SLAMMING My Chicken in the carry out plastic bag. So then she says oh she left, I said no I didn't I'm still here, I was watching you slam my chicken in the bag. She says we'll sorry, I said no problem, but you have to watch what you're doing and to whom you're giving food. Then thanked her and told her I hope you has a better day😉. Smh, haven't been back. I mean everybody has a bad day, maybe that was hers, But Don't Lie Girl, Not in Front of The Persin You Lying On because you THOUGHT they had left lol. “Definitely a hidden gem, my husband and I stopped in after our bike ride near LSU lakes. My grandmother recommended Café Express as the best option for comfort food in Baton Rouge. Everything here was delicious, and of good quality, nothing processed.
