Peaceful environment excellent service. Knowledgeable staff.
Very good sushi
Nice place.
A little pricey but worth it
Absolute favorite spot in baton rouge
George roll is the bomb
The food was awesome. This was on a Thursday evening. Service could have been a little faster but not a big complaint.
The sushi is pretty expensive for what you get. They closed early on a Saturday about an hour a half early which is odd. It was my and my wife's first time there but it was pretty expensive especially knowing There's so much competition in that area.
This place was really great! The portions were nice and the food was fresh and delicious. We had an awesome waitress as well.
Appreciation for the atmosphere and for the service. We were greeted, sat and serviced quickly and respectfully.
My daughter ordered the chicken katsu and I explored the tempura
The tempura was a healthy portion, fried well and came out hot!
My daughter's katsu was sizeable and was prepared well too.
It was her first time having katsu and she was impressed
We appreciated the complimentary cucumber salad as well as the pineapple at the end of our meal
One downside we noticed was the sauces - tempura dipping and the katsu sauce seemed to have a smoky flavor, which we are not used to
The business seems to be a fave in the community as we saw them preparing lots of to-go orders
We initially came in to try the sushi but we're a Lil put off by the pricing
Sushi in Baton Rouge should not run $20/roll.
Im from LA and ive never spent that much on classic nor specialty rolls
This is the best of the best don't miss coming here for REAL sushi and sashimi 🥢😊
This was one of my favorite restaurants in the area, but after finding out that they are not ESA friendly, I couldn't help but lose some respect for whoever owns the place. Denying service animals is seriously not cool...
Great food and service. A bit pricey but good.

Best sushi in Baton Rouge
Sushi Yama? More like Sushi Slap Yo Yama!
We had beef tataki, yakitori, hamachi, New Orleans Roll, Soft Shelled Crab Roll, Yama Roll, George Roll and Tiger Roll. Everything was perfect! I highly recommend this stop if in the Baton Rouge area. Worth it.
I recently visited Sushi Yama for lunch, and unfortunately, my experience was marred by an incredibly long wait that completely overshadowed the meal itself.
The restaurant was busy, which I can understand, but after we placed our order, we were left waiting for a staggering an hour before our sushi arrived. During that time, it was hard not to notice that customers who arrived after us were served much more quickly. In fact, some of them even finished their meals and left before we even got our food. Watching this unfold was incredibly frustrating and made what should have been a simple, enjoyable dining experience feel like an ordeal. I won't go back there again and I don't recommend this place at all.

While the food may be the freshest. I'm done spending any money here. On my birthday i was left waiting an hour for a roll they forgot to make. Next it seemed to be to much for the hostess to go check on my food that I watched sit over 30 mins while asking is that mine...
Now my first trip back they give no sauce. So of course I paid at the door and get home to no sauce... Should i drive back 30 mins across town and 30 back to sushi sitting almost 2 hours? Why do we tip these super smart door girls? Who knows? I do know 1 thing! They won't get 1 red cent from me anymore...
