Mel's diner Reviews
Oh my God! The place is amazing! Had Bentley burger and Philly cheese steak. Definitely worth the 1/2 detour from our drive.
This place is a hidden jewel! If you’re anywhere close to Bentley, LA, be sure to stop in. You won’t regret it!
I called in an order for a BLT.. extra crispy bacon, no onions (?), no pickles (?)!! Today, I just didn’t want lettuce. The bread had so much grease/butter you couldn’t hold on to it. The bacon wasn’t crisp, it was a tough rubbery consistency! Very, little tomato. The young lady that waited on me was courteous. I love the ambiance in that sweet place! I’ve eaten there before. But, what happened to the cook or cooks???? I want he back for that!

Mel's diner is a charming country-style restaurant with a 1950s Elvis theme, featuring a working jukebox, clean surroundings, and friendly staff. Known for its delicious burgers, such as the Bentley burger and Priscilla cheesesteak, the diner also offers a cozy atmosphere and accommodates dietary restrictions, wheelchair accessibility, and families with children. The place has that old school soda shop and burger stand feel about it, with Elvis memorabilia adding to the decor. The service is top notch, with attentive servers who bring drinks and tickets promptly. The food is outstanding, with excellent burgers and a variety of options like the chocolate malted and country scrambled. It is highly praised for having the best burger and shakes in the area, with customers often driving out of their way just to enjoy the food. Visitors also enjoy the nostalgic vibe created by oldies music playing in the background, making it a delightful and memorable spot. Prices are reasonable, and the portions are generous. Mel’s diner is a must-stop when passing through the tiny town of Bentley, LA.
