5 De Mayo Taqueria Restaurant

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant. We love the atmosphere and the food is great!

Food is great but will not dine in. My service wasn’t the best and my waiter gave himself something extra. I ordered food to go but didn’t realized the special that was advertised feast for dine in only as it wasn’t advertised as such. This was my first time dining in as I often get take out from them once a month. Will never do that again and will probably go somewhere else.

Second time to visit. Food was excellent, but service was severely lacking. We ordered food, got food, and never saw waitress again. Get this, we were the only ones in the restaurant. From 11:00-12:00, still the only customers. All we needed was drink refills. Waitress had more important business on her phone. Probably won’t be back.

10 out of 10 DO NOT RECOMMEND...This is not Tex Mex this is trash..NOTHING HAD ANY FLAVOR....The water had more flavor than the food...Just throw the whole buffet away and don't start over....Waste of money and will NEVER come back...

Today was my first time visiting 5 de Mayo, and it did not disappoint.Got the molcajete for 1 and it was enough for two of us!! The patio is also very nice, has a nice vibe, and really relaxing to come as family! Highly recommended!

Yo I was a little put off by the appearance of the front of the building, and had it not been for one of my Spanish-speaking Compadres I would have never entered the place. It looks more like a One Stop in the hood somewhere but bro the food was top notch, authentic. But the service and atmosphere is a little sketchy. They don't serve you drinks, you have to get those from the grocery side. So if you want beer has to be poured in a cup for you, not a frozen glass either. So I recommend ordering to go

Ordered their puffy taco combination and when I got it, the tacos were floating in grease! Both of them. I tried to eat above the grease but still got an upset stomach after I returned home. The meat was not properly drained of cooking grease prior to putting in the taco shell! Also, this restaurant use to give a military discount, especially since Barksdale AFB, La is just a few miles away. When I went to pay my bill yesterday, the server instructed me they no longer give a military discount. Therefore anyone that has served this great country now or in the past, should try one of the other good Mexican food restaurants in the local area!

We had an office Christmas party there, recently. The food was good and the chips and salsa were fresh. The live music was great, but the volume was a little too loud. Overall, it was a nice experience.

Have eaten here several times in the past and always good but was great tonight thanks to the service and personality of Stephanie our server!!!! Highly recommend Stephanie!!!
