This is not your same ol enchilada. In fact, they don't even serve an enchilada...or a crispy taco. Its not tex-mex. Its cali-mex and its so much better than all the other mexican joints in town. Excellent El Don juanz margaritas, fish tacos and queso. Chips and salsa are def the best!

Vegetarians rejoice! This taco joint goes above and beyond to have something for everyone. Their menu is Eat Fit certified by a large hospital chain as being healthy (on the selected Eat Fit items). Almost Everything on their menu can be made veggie or vegan, just look for the symbols on the menu. The veggie tacos with grilled corn, avocado, cilantro, jalapeno, grilled bell pepper, onion, rice nd lard-free black beans (with or without jack cheese) served on gluten free corn tortillas are a veggie dream. They'll add or delete whatever you want on these tacos which is what I've grown to love!

Vegetarians rejoice! Finally, a Mexican restaurant that gets it right and offers gluten-free and vegetarian/vegan options. Their rice, beans and tortillas are lard free. The veggie organic field green salad with scratch made dressing was perfect. The baja veggie burrito and the prettiest baja veggie bowl with roasted corn, which was my request were fresh and on point. They also offer a slim taco which is basically the same as their slim burrito. Great food, ambiance and knowledgeable service.

I had lunch here, and it was amazing! I love Don Juanz but this location is old and still above the gold star! Great service, great food, hardly any wait for our tacos despite a pretty steady lunch crowd.

Save your money - it’s Chipotle quality at best.

Decided to try a new place for lunch - this just wasn’t good. Chips were stale, so was the rice - it had a crunchy, ‘been left out too long’ quality. The best thing about the meal were the flour tortillas, but not for $47. Two lunches & 1 drink.

Will not return & do not recommend.

Chicken burrito in a wet suit, not that good-hardly any meat. Burrito and queso were barely warm.

Two off-menu specials that they offer to the loyal locals who enjoyed these when they were on the menu when they opened in 2006. They're pricey and I think that's why they took them off menu. If you have a few more dollars in your pocket, ask for the El Jefe Especiale grilled skirt steak with rice and beans (i got double rice) or the aptly named Tuna Steak special. A grilled fillet of sushi grade ahi tuna with an organic side salad and rice. You won't be disappointed.

There's not much of a bar scene here, but the margaritas are showstoppers. Can't figure out why this bar is not packed. Margaritas are made with freshly squeezed lime juice (a big plus), organic agave nectar (no sugar) and top shelf tequila. Hand shaken in front of you. The avocado margarita is not to be missed. Kinda like a margarita smoothy.
