“We eat here often. We like the food and service is generally good.
It's right on Youree Drive, but easy to miss if you're not looking. Plenty of parking so good for meeting up lotsa friends.
The decor is cute and relaxing. I enjoy browsing at the art work. Good size dining room and I don't reveal every having to wait - to see always go for lunch, or a later lunch.
We really like their fried rice - some places just don't have good fried rice.. Their sushi is good as is the Miso !! If you feel like a bit more Miso, just ask !!
Great place to go and chat over a meal !“

“Sushi Gen has become our go-to spot for sushi!! They are consistent with taste, freshness, & quality! I have even stepped out of my comfort zone & tried new rolls that I never would have before (and still was not disappointed)! Tonight they have expanded into my new go-to place for noodles because their chicken yaki udon/soba is SOOOO good - if you’re looking for comfort food to cheer you up then gran an order of these!“

“I recently had the pleasure of dining at Wings 'N' Rice, and let me just say—what a fantastic experience from start to finish! The food was nothing short of delightful. The wings were perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and coated in flavorful sauces that made it hard to pick a favorite (though the honey garlic might have stolen my heart). The rice bowls were just as impressive—fresh, hearty, and seasoned to perfection. You can really tell that the kitchen takes pride in what they serve. But what really made my visit memorable was the outstanding customer service, especially from an employee named Bruce. From the moment I walked in, Bruce was welcoming, attentive, and genuinely kind. He answered my questions with enthusiasm, offered thoughtful recommendations, and made sure everything was just right with my order. It’s rare to come across someone who takes such pride in their work and truly makes customers feel valued—Bruce absolutely did that and more. Restaurants can have great food, but it's the people who make the experience special—and Bruce took it to the next level. Big shoutout to him and the entire team at Wings 'N' Rice. I’ll definitely be back, and I’ll be recommending this spot to everyone I know!“

“Clean and neat with a strong Japanese aesthetic. Server greeted us warmly and was attentive throughout the meal. Very good sushi selection. Menu typical of a Japanese restaurant. All ordered items were delicious. Tempura was perfect. Perfect Yakisoba. Golden Lion roll was very tasty and beautiful. There is a beer / wine menu. Great place to go for lunch or dinner. Give it a try!“

“Went tonight for the first time! It was delicious! Definitely a new fav place!!! Can’t wait to go back!!! Staff was great food was incredible and it was a nice set up. My only complaint was it was a little warm inside and the tables are super low. The booth was super comfy it’s just the table hits really low. But that’s all ok bc the food was just amazing!“

“First off, our server Kyoko was great ! Of course, we expected nothing less !
For those who do not know, they are back in their original location. They were at the Sonic next door for a time whilst they rebuilt. Both locations are like right next to each other, so it's easy enough to find if you've never been to the original location.
Food.... great, as well !! I had the shrimp fried rice. It is one of the best in town !
The Miso soup hits the spot ! Our drinks were refilled in a timely manner ( a small thing, yet the mark of good service).
My fave item is the Pink Lady roll. I think it's a roll ( I did not order this time as I was not very hungry).
The indoor is a wonderful, cozy atmosphere. Very much as I remember the original. Plenty of good seating and lotsa TVs if you want to watch sports. There is a bar you can sit at.
There is an cute outdoor patio.
The place is on Line Ave, right next to Chiante. There is plenty of parking. If not right up in front, there is a parking lot, too.
Wheel chair accessible. Handicap spaces right up front and easy to get in the restaurant.“

“We love the whole presentation of our Japanese restaurant. Our granddaughter (who is autistic) sometimes has problems with too loud and sound effects is a big part in the overall experience, so tonight our chef was thoughtful & great time all while a whole table of 8 kept his attention. We love Shogun of Japan!!!“

“Ichiban has and always will be my favorite! I moved away from Shreveport a few years ago and I still daydream about the Hello Kitty roll. I came Saturday and had excellent service and the food was delicious as always. I look forward to coming back every time!“

“My recent lunch visit to Tokyo Japanese Steakhouse was nothing short of delightful, blending impeccable cleanliness, efficient service, and delectable cuisine into a memorable midday escape. From the moment we arrived, the establishment’s spotless condition was immediately apparent—every corner gleamed with care, including the restrooms, which were maintained to an exemplary standard that speaks volumes about the team’s commitment to hygiene and guest comfort.
Seating was a breeze; we were promptly accommodated at a comfortable table without any wait, allowing us to dive right into the experience. While the hibachi grill seating is reserved exclusively for dinner service—a thoughtful touch that preserves the interactive spectacle for evening diners—our lunch setup was perfectly suited for a relaxed meal. The food arrived in remarkably short order, yet it was evident that no corners were cut in preparation. Each dish was bursting with fresh flavors and expertly balanced seasonings, earning it high praise as truly outstanding.
Though the building itself carries a touch of vintage charm that might feel slightly dated to some, it adds a cozy, unpretentious ambiance that enhances rather than detracts from the overall appeal. In an era where modern aesthetics often overshadow substance, this subtle nod to tradition feels refreshingly authentic.
Overall, Tokyo Japanese Steakhouse delivers a seamless, high-quality dining option that’s ideal for a quick yet satisfying lunch. I highly recommend it for anyone seeking great food, swift service, and a welcoming atmosphere—I’ll certainly be returning soon!“
