We stopped off in Chalmette on our way home to Austin and this little hole in the wall place was just a mile from our hotel. I was immediately excited to see it because I wanted some local food beloved by locals that had something different than fast food, breakfast, or Mexican (we are Texans, we’ve got amazing Mexican cuisine at home!). Beignets. We tried them all. On our way to the battlefield, we happened to pass Parish Diner and decided to stop. Good thing we did! Easily the best beignets in New Orleans. Unanimous vote!
