“Cozy ambience with a unique, delicious drink menu. They also offer their kitchen to local food businesses, and the Asian fusion one there when I went was phenomenal. Donavin makes a wonderful drink called “Thank You for Being a Friend” with Louisiana run, almond, passionfruit, and smoky amaro – must try! I was in town for the Home + Garden Show, and Barrel Proof was the perfect unwind!“

“Excellent service (they have buzzers! I don’t need to listen for my name in a crowded bar!) and tasty food. In addition to bar time bites, their food travels well (due to some thoughtful packaging, bread isn’t stacked atop meat, etc) and I am able to grab stuff on my lunch break. A welcome addition to Mid-City!“

“We were staying nearby and after a less than comfortable experience at another bar, we wandered into the GDP. The server was friendly. We also enjoyed the atmosphere and had a good conversation with a couple near us. Definitely would come back again!“

“I had the shrimp and crawfish pasta! It was a bit spicy and so much food. Forgot to take a picture of my food. But got my beer! This stout beer was amazing! Great service from our server! Bathroom door (first one) didn’t lock walked in on a lady. Sorry lady! Very loud music from the Steam Boat was easily heard and we were in the back of the restaurant. Overall amazing food and great atmosphere! Awesome art on the walls!“

“HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED. FIRST TRIP TO NEW ORLEANS AND IF IT WAS BASED OFF THIS VISIT, WE WOULD'VE LEFT. BARTENDER PLAYING ON HER PHONE WHILE SOCIALIZING, DIDN'T TAKE OUR ORDER, WE EVEN LOOKED AT HER FOR AWHILE MAKING EYE CONTACT, IT WAS OBVIOUS WE WERE READY TO ORDER, SO WE LEFT. “Local review. Normally love this place and come here a lot. Just be careful if Andrew is the KJ - he’ll take your money to jump the line and then give your song away to tourists. DJ Kitty is much better. If I show up and Andrew is in the booth I’m turning around at the door.“
