I told my husband we couldn’t driving through Louisiana without stopping for something distinctly Louisianan. We both had the shrimp po’boy. He had the gumbo. We’re from Houston and to New Orleans a few times, so we’re no strangers to the flavor. The po’boy should be a rather simple but tasty affair. I have to say, this place did not disappoint! Next time (and I’m hoping there will be), I want to try the red beans & rice.
Hidden gem! Nicest man and great food!
love this place. Not sure why they have only 3.9 stars. Every time I have come here. The staff has went over and beyond with the food and the service. Little hidden gem, their burgers are huge and taste awesome

Hamburgers are fresh not frozen! Customer service was excellent ! Clean restaurant! I’ll definitely be going back .
Do not come here and eat!! I was craving a shrimp po-boy from Danny and Clyde’s in Metairie, but didn’t want to take the drive to get there, so I spotted this place, New Orleans po-boys out here in Denham Springs. Worst mistake I could make, the shrimp po-boy was very small in size and had 8 measley shrimp on each piece of bread, if that many. I had two little pieces of romaine lettuce with a huge stalk, one on each loaf down the middle and the lettuce was brown. One tomato, cut in half. I ordered a 12 inch and it looked more like a 10 inch. The sandwich was poorly made. I contacted the owner and they refused to give me a refund, mind you I paid 14.99 with tax 16 bucks and some change. I went back to the store and complained to the owner and they still refused me a refund, but offered to make me another sandwich, with more tomatoes and lettuce, I got one more piece of tomato, but that was it. The manager complained about the shrimp costing him 2 pounds, I’m assuming it’s costly, but anyway this was my first and last time coming to this establishment. Save your money and go somewhere else and eat. Not enough food for your money here at this place!!!

Today for my lunch, I decided to stop by the Denham Springs Original New Orleans Poboys and get a hamburger for my lunch. My burger was nicely dressed on a new bun they are using. I have to say, the bun was perfect and a must try!

Would get 4 stars if they heated the bread more to crisp it up....

By far the best seafood in town, fresh and perfectly cooked. Awesome onion rings are the best I ever had. No need to go anywhere else. Wide variety menu, child portions (Junior) for seafood which is plenty for an adult. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. This place has been here a very long time and is widely overlooked.
Bread was kind of hard, no bell peppers on any of the Philly's but pictures on the menu has bell peppers, lol. I tried the fried okra it was over cooked as well as the onion rings. I choose the shrimp poboy and the shrimp were fried perfectly, I had two strips of lettuce on my poboy and the tomatoes were fresh but I've never seen the end of tomato on a sandwich before. They used to have a rewards program through toast but the cashier didn't know how to enter my information. But it's ok I don't go here that often.

We came here for the first time on Saturday around lunchtime and it won’t be our last. The food was excellent!!. I had the shrimp po boy and curly fries. The bread was that perfect New Orleans style with the flaky top and the shrimp were fresh. Don’t forget to save room for the ice cream too. Honestly the best I’ve had in ages.
We were greeted by the friendliest young man at the register. He was so helpful in explaining everything when we mentioned it was our first time visiting. In an industry where you are often met with individuals that treat you as if you are inconveniencing them just by placing an order (I’m sure you’ve all experienced that) it was so nice to be met with such incredible kindness and enthusiasm. I wish I had caught his name to give him the recognition he deserves, but hopefully the owners will see this and let him know what an awesome job he’s doing.
