We had Saturday afternoon lunch and it was great! Our server Rhett was friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful with us, as first time guests. The Mahi-mahi was fabulous, the catfish was the best we’ve ever had and the onion sticks are superb. To top it off, we tried the Peanut Butter pie and were quite impressed! This restaurant is worth the trip to Des Allemands, LA!
Dude, this was the worst calamari I've ever had. They were insanely tiny, 90% breading and the marinara type sauce was like a watery tomato soup. It comes with fried zucchini and I got more of that than the calamari! I suppose this review is only useful if you're a calamari fiend like me.
The atmosphere and waitresses are the best feature of this restaurant. We googled & read that the bar opened at 9. We arrived, & the sign on the door said 9am bar opens. We walked in and 2 men asked us to leave, saying the bar was not open until 11. So we spent our money at Frank's down the road instead. Guess I'll never know if they make a decent drink at Spahr's. This was the 2nd time I've been here and the food is bland or the fish was old. The wait...
