The cutest place! And the food! OMG!! Can't wait for the next visit!
Awesome spot for a meal and dessert! Friendly staff and great variety. We had the roast beef and a “Ferdi” which were both excellent. Absolutely will visit again anytime we come back in town.
The costumer service and the food is amazing! They have an old school ice cream shop, all types of flavors and choices! I eat there once a week!

Bessie's Sweet Retreat is a very welcoming restaurant with an extremely clean environment. It is known for the best smash burger in Louisiana and the best homemade roastbeef poboy in Franklinton. The food is amazing quality, delicious, and spectacular. Popular menu items include the hickory burger, chili dogs, chicken salad, and milkshakes. The famous chicken salad is a weekly must-have. It is a great ice cream shop with many different flavors of Blue Bell, and the owner is very nice. The staff is amazing and always really good. The atmosphere is nice for lunch, like an old malt shop. Some items are a little pricey, but it is a nice desert spot in town.
