“Very convenient for families to stops along the highway. Restrooms are clean, and well stocked. Gas is fairly price-per gallon, for the area. At this location is a convenient store, with a restaurant, and a casino. Casino is small and smells of smoke, also the only game you can play is 21 on slot machines . Restaurant has extremely good food, with decent prices. Shoutout to the hard working crew they all make you feel welcome, and truly believe in customer service . Convenient stores has a lot to offer with souvenirs, and well stocked snack items. Located inside the convenient store is a fried food station with gator on a stick amazing, and meat pies, crawfish pies, blackberry cobbler, boudin balls, green fried tomatoes, etc. This place is a hidden gem, and I will definitely be adding it to my favorites on Google maps. If you ever visit Louisiana make sure you stop there and try the gator on a stick..“

“This is one of my favorite restaurants and even when I don’t get to go as often as I would like, every time I go, the quality of the food and drinks is the best. Today I went with my husband and toddler. We chose to eat outside because our son can get a little loud and wants to wander around. We ordered the special prickly pear margarita. I absolutely loved it. For me, it had the perfect balance of alcohol and sweetness. I would love if they would offer a frozen version too. I ate the fish ceviche with the prickly pear and I think it was perfect. It brought me back to my hometown in Yucatán where ceviche is sold on a daily basis. It was so fresh and again, had the perfect balance of lime juice and spicy flavor. And on a side note, we ordered a cheese quesadilla for my son and this is one of the few times where he has eaten the whole thing! The quesadilla had the perfect temperature to be eaten right away, the plate wasn’t hot, the quesadilla was soft, cheese was gooey. This made my evening because as a mother I noticed those details. Our server was nice all the time. Thank you to the wonderful team of El Cabo Verde 💚.“

“Food was delicious as always. Please update the menu on your FB Page and Yelp page to reflect the current prices. My fajitas were delicious and there was plenty of food for leftovers, but the menu price on your FB page and the actual price is different by over $10. I understand that prices have increased, and this is not by any means a complaint, just a request for updated information. Thank you“

“A Flavorful Feast with Room for Sweet Improvements
My recent dinner at Windrush was a delightful experience, largely due to the exceptionally well-prepared food. From start to finish, the dishes were a testament to masterful seasoning, arriving plentiful and absolutely bursting with flavor. Every bite was a genuine pleasure, showcasing a clear understanding of how to make ingredients sing.
The only minor stumble came with dessert. The beignets, while undeniably hot and fresh, would have benefited from a more generous dusting of powdered sugar to truly elevate their sweetness. A small personal preference, but I also would have loved for them to be served concurrently with my ice cream, as I had envisioned combining the two for a delectable hot-and-cold treat. Perhaps next time, I'll request this timing specifically.
Service throughout the evening was impeccable. Our waitress was a standout, proving to be both attentive and remarkably rapid in anticipating and fulfilling our needs. Her efficiency and pleasant demeanor truly enhanced the overall dining experience.
Despite the slight dessert quibble, the outstanding main courses and excellent service make Windrush Village Marketplace a highly recommended spot for anyone seeking a truly flavorful and satisfying meal. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!“

“I mean... does it compare to Texas Q? Absolutely not. Is it better than the big guys in Shreveport? Absolutely. The ribs are WAYYYY overcooked and need a lot more seasoning. The brisket needs more pepper. The bark on the brisket is nigh non-existent.
The sides though? Best jambalaya I've had at a BBQ joint. Not even close. The mac, however, needs Jesus and a lot more cheddar cheese, though the noodles are great, and the texture of the cream cheese is refreshing.
If the brisket had more seasoning and was wrapped in butcher paper instead of foil, this would be great. If the ribs weren't cooked to oblivion, broiled in tin foil for an hour longer than they should, and had more seasoning, they'd be great. If nothing else, the seasoning is awesome. It just needs as much love as they show their jambalaya.
I'll definitely be back, though. I'll chop up my visit as just a bad day. The folks are great so I want to support them!“
