When we get a chance to visit Hammond, we usually stop at Albasha for dinner. The food and the service is usually good. However, our visit yesterday was not as good. Service was meh. Food was alright. It might have just been a meh night.

Food came out fast and was so yummy. Had the meat stuffed plate ...a huge green bell pepper, a yellow summer squash, 2 grape leaves and 2 cabbage leaves, all covered with a red sauce. The salad and piya bread were very fresh. Leftovers from the lunch portion were enough for a couple more meals at home! This one was in Hmond and we've eaten at other locations in Bston Rouge... always satisfied!

This rating is more about the sum of my experiences at Albasha as this particular visit was closer to a three. While the service was great and the atmosphere was 'as expected', this particular dish fell short. The lamb shank plate is pretty bland to look at and about the same in taste. Lumps of relatively plain meat that taste about as well as they look. Not bad mind you - just very plain. Perhaps the lamb shishkabob would have been a better choice for me.
