Unbelievably good pork and beef sandwiches. Messy as heck but delicious and they provide plenty of paper towels at the tables. Don’t expect any fine dining accoutrements or atmosphere here just good food. If you’re hungry this is the place to go. Free advice would be to not wear anything you are afraid to leave with a grease or sauce stain.
I grew up in between the surrounding area and New Orleans... Hi-Ho is always a staple when I visit home! My son was born in NC, and has lived Hi-Ho sandwiches since I introduced them to him. We have been known to drive from Houston to Hammond/Ponchatoula to get a Hi-Ho BBQ pork with cheese (okay, maybe to visit family as well). But we have never left without getting some food from here! Better fare than what the Hi-Ho in Livingston offered. Not as good as BBQ in Baton Rouge, but probably the best for the price in Livingston Parish. Ice cold glass bottles of Barqs root beer hits the spot here.
