Barrow's Catfish - Poydras location We ordered the Barrows catfish entree with potato salad, smothered seafood okra with catfish, and shrimp and spinach rolls. The texture of the catfish was amazing! I wish that it had a tad bit more seasoning but I would definitely order it again. The smothered seafood okra was a taste of southern comfort and just delicious. The rolls were nicely cooked with just the right amount of crunch. Con (to some): The catfish is farm raised.
First an far most i would like to give the guy who opened the door an greeted us upon arrival 5 stars for first impressions of a restaurant he was fantastic an a perfect gentleman, he explained everything about the restaurant rules on large parties. An told us our servers name. The food was great but the catfish tasted like that imported swine fish. When we asked our server was this imported fish she got very hostile with us. The fried catfish, potato salad, gumbo was great. Didn't like the iced tea, too sweet and they don't offer a regular tea. I also don't like the fact that they have a no sharing policy if three people want to share the large catfish dinner. They would not bring out another plate. When did that start? I thought that I was watching an episode of Everybody Hates Chris. I really thought that the waiter was joking.
