Great food and service !
Just got dinner here with tiki cocktails for the first time in several years. The food is fine. The cocktails were fine. Together - they hit in a very special way! I highly recommend that for the full China Doll experience. The service was great and the interior hasn't been updated since the 70's with wood panelling, tiki accent lights, and a pristine gold fish aquarium. It's exact what I wanted in an old school Americanized Chinese restaurant.
I had not been to China Doll in years because my favorite is Empress of China.
I went to China Doll with friends for lunch recently. I order 3 items that I have ordered several times at Empress to compare: Fog Cutter, Hot & Sour Soup and the BBQ Rib Plate. Not one came close to Empress. The Fog Cutter was weak. The Hot & Sour Soup didn't have the hot & sour punch. The rib plate had shrimp fried rice. Very little shrimp. The ribs were large and meaty.
