We have enjoyed their food for many years, however something has changed. Their enchiladas are no longer the same. The last time we got them they were raw tortillas with meet inside and some sauce on top. There weren't placed in an oven and covered with sauce and cheese like they use to be. It's disgusting to serve something like this to customers. We will be looking elsewhere unless this changes.

Don Jose’s is an awesome Mexican food dining experience located just off I-10. The restaurant shows a little age but maintains a gorgeous dining atmosphere. The menu is loaded with all the staples. The food came out super fast and was absolutely amazing. Our waitress (Thalia) was a rockstar and provided the best service we’ve experience in a long time anywhere. She truly was masterful. I cannot rave enough about the experience and the food. We look forward to our next visit. Recommend giving this place a try!!

Parking: Large parking space wrapping around the restaurant. Shouldn’t have any trouble getting a spot even during peak times.

Kid-friendliness: Yes, there were numerous kids and families there. Definitely a favorite among the little ones too.

Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, ramp at the entrance and fully wheelchair accessible with appropriate seating accommodations as well.

Kid-friendliness: Great place to take your family. Great atmosphere. My waiter, Pablo was an awesome waiter. I wish this place was in corpus Christi, Texas. Love it

Wheelchair accessibility: Great place to take your people in wheelchairs

Dietary restrictions: I was able to swap the four tortillas to corn tortillas due to celiac. I did not react.

Kid-friendliness: Plenty of high chairs and stands for infant seats. Environment is laid back so a little noise will not be suseptible disruptive.

Wheelchair accessibility: There is handicap parking and a ramp. However, there is only a tiny amount of space at the top of the ramp that is also at the top of steep steps. The door swings out. It would be precarious to maneuver around it, especially alone. There is seating inside on the first level with no steps. The bathroom would be impossible if you are not able to walk a few steps.

Overall, just ok for me. My server was fantastic. She was upbeat and friendly. Would hire her in a heartbeat. The food tastes the same as most of the other Mexican restaurants around the country. Honestly, I could close my eyes and feel like I was back in my home state. Not that it's a bad thing, just nothing that was a wow for me.

My food was average, not bad at all. The atmosphere was also very plain. The best part was the server, she was pleasant, friendly, and smiled a lot, which made us feel very welcome. I would be willing to go back and try another dish.

The only drawback is that I am confined to an electric wheelchair. My party had to lift me and my chair to the main dining area. Also, although they have a wheelchair ramp, the landing is not large enough for a wheelchair to allow a wheelchair to easily maneuver to small entrance. I had to be maneuvered to the opposite side of the landing from the ramp. Otherwise, I would not have been able to enter. I was precariously close to the edge, and no one else was able to enter nor exit. As we left, there was a considerable log jam. No employee from Don Jose's Grill came to our assistance. A member of our party had to ask people trying to exit to please step back and allow someone to maneuver to chair out the door, as someone else asked people who were trying to enter to step back off the landing so the door could be opened all the way and allow them to maneuver my chair into position to go down the ramp.
We enjoyed the food and table service, but as for returning, our party eat out twice a week a week, ranging in a group of 3 to 10. Unfortunately, we won't be returning anytime soon.
Don Jose's Grill is Definitely not wheelchair friendly.

Came for Monday dinner, and it was pretty busy. But did not have any issue getting seated for a party of two. Sat at a high table, and our server was awesome. Very fast, attentive, and knew how to run the show.

Ordered tamales Mexicanos based from our server’s recommendation and ate every single bite! Portions are huge, and the dish had so much flavor! Was fresh and tasted amazing. Even the chips and salsa were good!

Highly recommend if you want some good and reasonably priced Hispanic food in the area
