This gem is not far off 1-10 and is located one block from the river. It’s nestled in a little neighborhood setting that is both nostalgic and welcoming (there are lights strung on all the buildings). The atmosphere of the dining room speaks Italian. I hate to comment because I really wanted to like this old time NO south Italian institution, but the food was so disappointing that it would be a disservice not to do so. We went for a weekday lunch and ordered very standard dishes. The antipasto sample was unmemorable, except for the calimari which were very fishy tasting. The marinara dipping sauce was, oddly tasteless. The salads were a bit old and oily. The shrimp ravioli special was fine, except that the cheese sauce...
Good people, good food, good atmosphere! Took a hit with Covid and the fire but bounced back which is a testament of their fortitude and willingness not to give up!! Support these guys!
