This was my first time here and it was amazing! The bbq ribs fell off the bone and the collard greens were flat out delicious!! I would definitely recommend! The portions are great for the price too. The staff was really friendly and the service was fast. It is cash only so bring some with you, you won’t be disappointed.

Hurst's Restaurant and Seafood is a well-loved family-owned establishment known for its delicious soul food and flavorful seafood. Reviews highlight the Shrimp Poboy, Red Beans with Fried Pork Chop, Smothered Pork Chops with Rice Gravy and Corn Bread, and the Fried Fish Po Boy as must-tries. The service is praised as some of the best, with staff providing recommendations and creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The tea is also appreciated for its great taste. Customers often mention the fried chicken with greens and cornbread as a great meal, while others enjoy the red beans and rice with smothered turkey wings, corn bread, and potato salad. The portions are generous, and the food is well-seasoned. Hurst's started in 1939 as a chicken shack and now offers chicken and seafood. Visitors note that the fried chicken is tasty, and the cornbread has a nice bottom crust and is fluffy. While the food is highly praised, some mention the atmosphere could be improved, as the restaurant looks like it’s back in the 70s and the outside and inside seem a bit run-down. The dining room can be warm, but overall, Hurst’s is recommended for its long history and delicious dishes. It remains a special spot for those seeking flavorful comfort food with a friendly vibe.
