I have no idea why I don't come here all the time. Fabulous flavorful vegetarian dishes like bengan bartha and veg delight, and they don't skimp on the spices, heat, or portion. The chaat, meat dishes, and desserts are delicious too.

I've tried their Nihari and Goat Biryani as well as their lemonade. The lemonade is so good and refreshing. The Nihari was decent (3.5/5). The Goat Biryani is good (4.25/5). The biryani in particular is very authentic. I've lived in Toronto and California as well and it's as good as the better restaurants in those areas.
The staff is great and super friendly!
The ambience has room for improvement and I hope to see the restaurant's ambience improve and match the quality of its food.

The biryani is reheated mid. Portion sizes for karahi + especially seekh kebab are so small. But taste decent. At least it’s halal but won’t be back in a hurry.

This is my husband's favorite Indian restaurant. I tend to prefer Americanized Indian food, and he prefers authentic Indian food. However, I also enjoy the delicious food here at Nola Desi Kitchen and visit by myself when I'm here on business. I enjoy the various kabobs, Naan, and my favorite beverage in New Orleans, the mint lemonade.

I had a very disappointing experience at Nola desi Restaurant. I called ahead to confirm if they were serving halwa poori and was assured that everything was available. However, when I arrived, the staff informed me they couldn’t accommodate dine-in because they were expecting a large group. They said halwa poori would take over an hour to prepare, which was very frustrating since I had already confirmed availability beforehand.
The front desk staff was unhelpful and unwilling to address my concerns, leaving me feeling ignored and undervalued as a customer. Such poor service and lack of communication are unacceptable. I wouldn’t recommend this place unless they improve their customer service and planning.

It wasn’t terrible. I had the Karahi Chicken. The chicken was mostly a lot of bones and very little actual meat. I ordered it spicy and it wasn’t spicy at all. I also got the garlic naan, but didn’t see any garlic pieces on it, still it was the highlight of the meal. The prices are about the same as comparable restaurants in the CBD that have much better food and atmosphere. Of course, that usually means enduring the headache of parking. I didn’t have time for that as I needed to stay near the airport. I may come back when I’m next in the area, try some different dishes and update this review.

i ordered via uber eats, and everything arrived still hot, which i was super happy with because im about 30 mins away from the restaurant. this was my first experience with authentic desi food and i am super impressed. the butter chicken was bursting with flavor and i think mango lassi is my new obsession. amazing job! i will be back!
