We came for dinner during a weeknight because this is reputed to be Lafayette's best restaurant--the closest thing we have to fine dining. The wine list and cocktail menu were superb. I ordered a French 75 off menu and we were all pleased with our drinks. The starters were uninspiring (mushroom ravioli and bacon wrapped shrimp), but our daughter loved her cup of gumbo. The entrees were excellent. Duck confit, lamb, and crawfish topped snapper. Great flavors. I am a peasant of poor breeding so I expected bread with the entrees, but apparently that's not how sophisticated folks roll. No pun intended. Desserts were satisfactory. I'm of the opinion that bread pudding is an affront to both bread and dessert but my wife exclaimed that it was among the best she's tried. I loved the carrot cake. It was rich but not decadent. The atmosphere is cozy, and this historic country home is charming and romantic. Great place for a special celebration. Starters B-, Entrees A-, Desserts B, Atmosphere A-, Service A-.

Do not miss this restaurant! All local recipes and incredible food. They run specials that are mouth-watering!

This was the absolute best dining experience I've had in my 33 years of life. From the moment we walked in, everything was perfect. The service was unmatched. Our server, Reese, was friendly, knowledgeable, patient, and prompt. We will be requesting to be with him every single time we visit in the future. The bacon wrapped shrimp and wedge salad are to die for. The Gulf Fish Acadien with red snapper is 100% the best dish I've ever had in my entire life. I was SAD when I took the last bite. The lemon tiramisu was out of this world delicious. We have officially found our new Saturday night spot. P. S. Did I mention how awesome Reese is?! Ask for Reese! Tell him Aaron and Ciara sent ya!

Took my wife there for our 10th anniversary. There was a card on our table that said happy anniversary signed by the staff it was a nice personal touch. It was our first time dining there I’m very happy I picked this place. Great atmosphere loads of history and just the right balance of cozy and class. Second was the other customers which is not fully under the control of the restaurant but can greatly effect the experience they fit right into the cozy/classy environment and I felt very comfortable dining there. Last but not least the food absolutely perfect we will be returning in the future.

It's that good, I don't give many places 5 stars, but this one deserves it! From steak to seafood and excellent service, you will not be disappointed! I am not a huge filet mignon fan, it was one of the best steaks I've ever had. This is a great place to celebrate an anniversary, birthday, promotion or a Thursday night! Enjoy

This restaurant only disappoints when I can't get a reservation. It is consistently top notch in every way and stays on my favorites list. If you haven't been, do yourself a favor and go.

Food, service, ambiance and wine list was so good we came back two nights later during our short stay in Lafayette. Excellent rack of lamb, fish of the day (rock fish) and filet. The appetizer sampler is worth trying as is the turtle soup. Good selection of Napa reds and very good cocktails. Quieter atmosphere which fits the restaurant's general elegance. Our waiter, Grant, was attentive and helpful. Highly recommended

Started out in the bar, as we had arrived early. The person working the bar was fantastic, knew his stuff. The waiter was very frendly and knew the menu, as is he had tried every item. Very knowledgable about the specials. He was very attentative to our needs, making sure everything was perfect. When I made our reservation on line I answered that a special occasion, my wife's birthday was the reason for our visit on that night. The staff had all signed a card for her, awsome. Next time we are in Lafayette we will be eating here. John S.

This restaurant never disappoints. The food is so fresh & well prepared and the service is top notch. They accommodated our special requests and it was amazing. All of this in a magical setting. If you haven't been, what are you waiting on? Treat yourself!

The food was great and because of the reservation requirements, it was not overly busy and noisy. Only knock was I wish there was a little more light inside. Some customers had to use their cellphones to see the menu well.

Quaint historic venue for a restaurant. The inside of the building has been preserved quite well. The food was delectable. I ordered the Gulf Fish Acadien and the other White Chocolate Bread Pudding (house favorite) for dessert. The fish was cooked to perfection and the bread puddin’ did not disappoint. I also had a nice refreshing mocktail that was unlike anything I’ve had before; Apple Sage Cider Lemonade. Ambiance was laid back—fine dining yet also casual. I must say, walking out and seeing the CVS propped right next to this 1835 classic was quite the humorous juxtaposition.
