My family and I were traveling from Houston toNew Orleans and as dinner time approached while driving through Lafayette, we started looking for food options.When Patacon came up on my list I was ecstatic. We are Venezuelan/Colombian so finding our traditional food is always wonderful, especially after my celiac diagnosis. It was already 7pm so we had to take our food to go, but the restaurant is very clean inside and welcoming. The family who runs it are super nice and gave us lots of tips for our trips and made us want to go back. We ordered the reina pepiada and brisket arepas and we were in heaven. We have a lot of arepa places back in South Florida and my mom (who is super picky and hard to please) said the places we frequent should go to Patacon and learn from them!Gluten free review: happy to report, no issues with gluten for me having the reina pepiada!
