Place had great atmosphere, and great staff. Was very disappointing that they closed. I think it was premature. This area seems like it is updating and at some point will be a great avenue to bring nightlife to Lake Charles, very sad

I'll give three stars because there is a nice and friendly atmosphere at the cafe. However, the food particularly for brunch was not impressive at all. There are quite a few options to choose from but of everything the only thing that was appetizing was the omelet. Who wants to pay almost $30 to eat only an omelet and ultimately leave to find something else to eat? I would likely try the Blue Dog Cafe again, but definitely not for brunch!

I made a quick stop here for lunch during a road trip through Lafayette. The setting was nice and elegant, with captivating blue dog artworks on the walls. There was a stage for live music, but I expected that would be for evening performances. We sat at the bar, and were immediately greeted by a courteous bartender who took our orders.
