The food is exactly what I would expect from a great Louisiana seafood restaurantThe restaurant feels like you’re on the bayou or gulf coast, but you’re dead center and busy Lake CharlesThey are open Friday through Sunday which makes me always wanna set my calendar for Friday. Very nice people, and the owner is funny

The catfish was old and dry the fried oysters was disgusting. My husband bit into one and green gooey stuff skirted out. We told the waitress and she told the manager and they still did nothing. When a customer gas a complaint you try to fix it. That was a waste of a lot of money.

Great service and delicious food. Large parking lot. If you love seafood you will enjoy The Captain's Table.

Not the best experience tonight. Get ther a little before 7, sit down and not one server looked our way. Another couple came in after us and within 5 minutes had their order taken. I get the servers attention to get us our server and she said ok, still no one came so we waited longer. All this time no drinks or silverware. My husband got up and approached one of the servers and asked if we could get service and still nothing. Finally the sweet bartender Brittany came with a napkin and took our orders. She waited on us and did the best she could all night. She was great, she was the only one to help us all night. So after over an hour later she was able to bring us our food, which was not very hot, and unfortunately my son had a hair in his side dish. Just a shame the servers never even looked our way. But we will be back because all the other times we have gone there it had been great, just tonight was not one of them.

Walked in and we got a table and sat for 15 minutes, quite a few staff members saw us sitting and no one came to the table so we left. Very disappointing, no wonder the restaurant wasn't full on a Friday night.

My first time here with family and friends.we had read some of the reviews good and bad and decided to try anyways because my son wanted lobster and husband wanted oysters. The wait staff was friendly and helpful but it took a really long time to get anything. The lobster and oysters were great but that was the only thing out of the shrimp poor boy, fish and shrimp basket and gumbo. Really great people and atmosphere but really need to get some extra help in the kitchen and wait staff so don’t hav to wait almost hour half to get your food or 20 min for drink and hour for fried pickles.

This place is so wonderful! It should be so much busier than it is. The raw oysters and flash fried oysters are amazing! I’ve ate at 5star seafood restaurants and this is unpretentious, feel good and the food is so much better. Our server Brooklyn was so attentive and made sure we were always taken care of. I need to mention that all the servers are the best which is hard to find. You definitely need to stop in and get happy.

This was a huge disappointment. The waitresses are busting their butt and no complaint there. The management and food is the problem. The woman working at the bar outside doesn't have scare in the world. There were three people behind the bar while i stood there to order. Then when I did I was definitely bothering them. The my fried fish and oysters came out. Great but I said no oysters repeatedly. And the shrimp are awful. How do you have a seafood place in lake charles la and have bad fried food???

This place was sad and disgusting. Walk in and bartender looks at us and looks back at her customer and kept talking… I’m like we wait to be seated or sit our selves? Finally sit and we are handed these stapled paper menu that were so beat up looking and come to find out some of the menus were missing pages… server came finally and took our drink order. Had to wait for her to come back to take our app order. We ordered the 100mile oysters, cheesy shrimp bread, and lump crab cake… waited and then gave our main order.. the oysters came out and they were watery and very raw still. We couldn’t eat them. our main dinner came out and we were like where’s our apps? Lady ended up telling us oh they put them in the oven but didn’t turn the oven on… they cooking now… the bread for the cheesy bread was burnt black and the actual cheese shrimp was gross. The crab cake was one crab cake.. it was not cooked through. The center was cold…. Our main dishes were fried seafood platter, shrimp fettuccine, and a shrimp po boy. The fettuccine was super bland… pepper and hot sauce couldn’t save it… the po boy was on hoagie bread. Sad…. The only good thing of the whole dinner was the fried shrimp… do NOT waist your time going there! Go else where! No wonder it was so dead in there… and half the stuff we wanted they didn’t have… obviously management is missing.. I gave it one star bc it wouldn’t let me do no star.

Absolute worst experience I’ve had at a restaurant. First, our server neglected us for the entire hour and a half that we were there. Other servers had to help us. The oysters were great, no complaint there. The shrimp fettuccine was terrible. No seasoning and the shrimp were not peeled. They completely forgot my fiancée’s meal, but we were so irritated by then that we were just ready to leave. I actually had to ask another server to bring us our ticket because our server couldn’t be found. When we messaged the manager, his response was “sorry, new staff, try us again in a month.” We will not return. I’ll drive to Lafayette for oysters before we come back to Captain’s Table. 0/10
