Food was ok. I usually love a steam boat bills. This one isnt my favorite but it wasnt bad. Serviced ourselves for drinks a few times but that's ok. It was super busy in there. Packed house, so it was very loud. We kept having to ask eachother to repeat what was said. The shrimp po boy was decent. The crawfish were very spicey but the flavor was...different. And the seafood plate was good.
Steamboat Bill’s on the Lake is a solid stop for Cajun seafood, especially if you’re traveling through Lake Charles and want something fast, hearty, and full of flavor. The fried seafood was cooked really well, the shrimp were fresh, and the boudin balls and gumbo were definitely highlights. I also liked the casual, busy energy inside — it feels like a place that knows it gets a crowd and keeps things moving. Parking can be a little tight, and the ordering setup takes a minute to figure out, but once you’re in, the service is quick and the food makes it worth it. The portions are generous too, so you leave full and happy 😋

A must stop if you are passing through hungry. Do NOT waste your time or money anywhere else. The menu is great something for everyone. The alligator was so fresh. The pilstolette were amazing. The staff was so friendly. I will be back for sure. Both my husband and I enjoyed our meal. Thanks ❤️

Awesome 🥰 delicious 😋
Stopped here on a road trip and the food was amazing. The place has a bit of a crowd but the staff runs it like a well oiled machine and the wait time was minimal. This will be a stop for us anytime we are in the area now.
Steamboat Bill’s on the Lake did not disappoint! The gumbo was flavorful, the fried shrimp and fish were cooked to perfection, and the crawfish pistolette was absolutely amazing. Great food, great portions, and definitely worth the visit!

Well worth the price for the quality and amount of food. If I lived here I would go again and again.
I had to come and check out this spot while in town bcuz of all the online reviews & recommendations from locals! I’m a Maryland girl so I know ball. 😉 I had to see if the seafood was as good as they say.
Ordered the fried Captains platter, a boudin ball, and a small red beans and rice. Listen…the boudin ball was 10/10! I have never had one before and I wish I had ordered more than 1! The seafood platter was delish with a good batter. The fried oysters were plump & juicy on the inside just how I like. The star of the show to me was the fried catfish, I tore it up & licked my fingers after! The red beans and rice were tasty as well!
I loved everything and can’t wait to come back and try some more good eats!

I make it a point to stop here when passing through. I love that everything is hot and fresh. You can get in and out with relative ease. Menu items that I like are their fried oysters, their soups, boudin balls, and their fried fish.
Portions are very large, so you can split and entree if you like. The staff is friendly, and the food is great. It's hard to do better than this.

We come every Sunday after Mass. Everything I've tried on the menu is great. The gumbo, the best. The crab legs, the best. The fried shrimp, fish, oysters, you name it....... We love this place.
