The food was awful! Hadn’t been there in a few years and decided to bring the family before a parade. There were only a handful of customers (I know why now), the debris fries had a brown gelatinous “gravy” with a few strands of meat. The gumbo tasted like liquid smoke, the red beans also tasted like liquid smoke or plastic. The kids chicken nuggets were indistinguishable pressed breading, not chicken pieces. Went to dinner Saturday night. Walked in and the building smelled like sewage. We should have taken that as our sign to leave, but we had a day of having to hop from place to place trying to find an activity for our 1 and 3 year old to do and we’re tired of moving around so we stayed. First visit we were warmly greeted and made to feel like old friends. The hostesses and wait staff are fantastic and the food is second to none. We told them we'd be back and we returned twice more over four days in the area.
