“Absolutely delicious. I was skeptical since they self claim they have the best tamales but they Definitely have a run in that claim. Will be back if for the tamales alone. Shrimp plate was good but nothing extraordinary. The people were all very friendly and felt like they were all good friends.“
“The food served is very good. The facilty could use a cleaning. I took it upon myself to wipe down my table prior to my order being ready. The table surface appeared dull from age, but two wipes from my clean napkin revealed the table had a brown residue. as I stated earlier; the food is excellent; but for the extremely high prices they charge, (1 small, 1 large shrimp poboy, 1 large onion ring, 2 medium drinks $42.00 for lunch) there should be clean tables. Oh.. .one more thing have your drink vendor (Coca Cola) change out those old dingy 2019 LSU and Mardi Gras banners. Again... the food was good! $42.00? If you're looking to "take out", that might be a better option. Unfortunately, doing that won't give you that fresh-out of the kitchen tasting food. $42.00??“
“Prices at Mr Roos are modest for well done, classic sandwich's, salads and hot plates. They have all your friend favorites but can get grilled versions of fish, shrimp and oysters too. I like that! I had the grilled shrimp Caesar salad. It was 9,50 and had big grilled shrimp, fresh lettuce, lots of cheese and a tasty dressing. The hot plates look tasty and fresh.“
“The po boys here are excellent. I got to try both the softshell crab and the oyster and both were soooooooo good. The restaurant is very small and full of people so getting a seat to eat is tricky. Also it is cash only. Budget about 15-20/sandwich.“
“We spent some time in the French Quarter and decided to try a couple different spots to find the best sandwich we could. The fried shrimp poboy from Verti Marte blew all of the competition out of the water. The place feels unapologetically authentic, and the staff was friendly enough to give us some recommendations on where to get a good muffuletta sandwich (they were out of the bread) and what their favorite beignet spots were. Overall we highly recommend.“
“You will never find a better sandwich in Greater New Orleans area. If you're lucky, owner Dan Stein will be the one to take your order (in a deadpan sort of way that gives real personality to the restaurant). If you're not a NOLA native, do try some local Cajun and Creole cuisine. But do NOT miss out on this terrific NY style deli owned by a true mensch.“
“Fantastic. Hidden gem.Don't shy away from this place because it's tucked away in a food court, in fact go there for this reason. It has tons of seating, including a balcony. The perfect place to get an amazing sandwich away from the crowds.Tried the curry chicken salad sandwich and the French dip, highly recommend both.“
“We ordered a muffuletta and a chop salad. The salad was fresh, delicious, and great quality. The muffuletta-YUMMYYY!!! They make a really nice muffuletta, I mean you have to try it!! I split the sandwich and the salad with my boyfriend and we were happy and full at the end. Service was nice. We placed a call in order so we could just run in and grab it so I'm not sure about the ambience inside. We took ours to-go and ate it in City Park- a lovely little lunch.“
“3-29-2024, stopped in today for lunch. We had the stuffed Millerton w/ broccoli and rice and cornbread dressing. Excellent as usual. Also, the pot roast with souffle spinach and grilled brussel sprouts. Excellent. I only complained about this place is so “
“I have patronized World Deli for years for in house meals and to go. I have also depended on them for catering for special events and holiday. They have never failed to supply fresh, delicious food in a timely manner. One of my favorites is the ham dressed on po-boy bread with a side order of their wonderful potato salad. The restaurant is immaculate and the employees are friendly and hard working. I highly recommend it.“
