The guacamole is fresh. We got the 1$ tacos which are better than 1$ fries at a fast food place. Not a 4 or 5 star but pretty good

We tried El Fogon for the first time at lunch and were impressed. Their chips were fresh and their salsa and guacamole were both quite good. Everything we had was excellent, including a Chile Relleno with steak fajita, a shrimp fajita, a chimichanga, and tres leches. We will be back.
Yummy tacos. We got the chicken, beef tenderloin, and pulled pork shoulder tacos. They were very good and fresh. 5$ for 4 tacos on Tuesday too good. Would eat at again

When I think of El Fogon a few words come to mind. Authentic, consistency, and burritos! It's hard to come by an authentic mexican restuarant in the New Orleans area in general, so I feel pretty lucky that El Fogon set up shop pretty close to my home in Metairie. They're located in the same building that used to be Taco Tico, but have seriosuly taken the food and service to another level. The service has always been friendly when I have dined in or picked up a to go order. (When dining in) The servers are great about checking in with you as far as food/drinks. The food has consistently been excellent. The burritos are definitley my favorite, but I have also tried a few other items off the menu that were also just as delicious. The salsa and queso are good enough to fill up on alone! If you're in the area and in the mood for Mexican, stop by El Fogon! You won't regret it.
