Kosher Cajun NY Deli & Grocery

Really lovely place and even lovelier people.

The food was delicious, and the owner was super friendly, giving us a history of the establishment and the related Jewish community. No other kosher Cajun food in the 🌎! Also a great place to stock up on Israeli and other kosher provisions.

Great service! Excellent sandwiches. I recommend the J&N with pastrami in and corned beef. If you are looking for the real thing come here.

Wonderful sandwiches in a cozy NY style deli environment. They pile the pastrami and corned beef high on fresh rye bread. The mustard, horseradish and slaw enhance the flavors of the sandwich.

Was in town for surgery, was a great resource :) had food delivered by Uber Courier to our hotel. Excellent selection, great staff, a real gem. New Orleans is lucky to have!

Visiting from NY area, we were so excited to find a kosher place by New Orleans. The food was really good and the grocery store was fully stocked with anything you would expect to find! Amazing place and we will be returning again during our trip.

I've been eating here sporadically for probably 20 years now, and have never been disappointed. My go-to is always the J&N Special and a Dr. Brown's cream soda. Wish I could go eat there more frequently, but the traffic in Metairie is so bad nowadays it's hard for me to get across town just couple of miles to have lunch and then get back to work on time.

It's a multi-use store, they have judaica, grocery, and restaurant all in the same building which is great for one stop shop. The food was tasty but my entire family got terrible food poisoning! We even called in to let the owner know, and he was super dismissive. They charged 1.50 for a tiny side of Russian dressing without saying that it's an additional charge. Also they ring everything up together at the end so your merchandise plus whatever food you got and then ask for a tip! So just beware of that fun fact...

Reminded me of home. Very friendly owners and wait staff. Excellent menu and additional items for take out in the grocery. I found certain brands and foods that I haven’t seen since I moved from NY.

Only kosher spot in NOLA, been here a few times, very good and consistent food, prices are fine, lots of seating area and Plenty of parking

It’s a true blessing to be able to stop on a road trip and get fresh kosher food. We ordered several dishes for the three of us to share, and everything was good. The jambalaya, “shrimp,” sandwiches, and onion rings were all very good and priced very fairly. They’re also a fully stocked kosher supermarket, which makes it an incredibly convenient stop if you need anything for Shabbat or kosher food for the road. The owner and staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. I’d recommend stopping by whether you’re visiting or just driving through New Orleans.
