Restaurant has closed for good.
Phonecia has definitely gone downhill since my first visits back in 2020-2021. My mother and I visited recently. Despite us being the only guests there, the two men that were working acted like it was an inconvenience to serve us. They were not friendly or welcoming at all. Our Lebanese teas tasted rancid, as if they used unclean water. I used the restroom, and the ladies room smelled of unclean, rotten egg smelling water. Very unsanitary, they could really use a health inspection. Additionally, the restaurant seems to not have had a deep cleaning in a long time.

After careful reconsideration, I decided to delete my previous review as well as add more stars. The food here is fantastic. Top notch. However, service was always hit-or-miss. No drink refills. Having to find someone in the back to take my money. But lately, it has gotten better and will hopefully continue to do so. So, for now, we are at 4 stars. I dont expect much... be nice, get my order right, and keep my glass filled.

I wish I could rate the food, as I have not eaten there before. Last night I was excited to try to chicken schwarma, hummus, and greek salad. Placed an order online, along with 2 other people. It said the food would be ready in 30 minutes. That's fine. We showed up and 3 different people asked why we were there, then looked at us like we were aliens when we said we placed an online order. Finally 1 person said give them a few minutes. Well 25 minutes went by (after the original 30 minutes we were told after placing the order) and there was no employee to be found. We left, because obviously they did not know we placed orders online, and no one cared to update us on the status. An hour is far too long to wait for a meal. I will not be back.
I picked up staff lunch from here. They crushed it. Will definitely be back.
I’ve eaten in the restaurant and picked up orders to go. The food is very tasty and fresh. The hummus is the best I have ever eaten! It’s so creamy and flavorful. They serve it with a swirl of chile and oil and a delicious olive. If you like hummus you should try theirs
Very dead which allowed service to be nice a quick. Food wasn’t bad and the bill ended up being $19 between two people which was great. I tipped about $3-4 which is 20% of the meal. Afterwards before being able to pull off the manager chased us into the parking lot and knocked on the window and asked if there was a problem with the service or food. I respectfully said “no, not at all” and she left without saying anything else. I had no problem with the restaurant until after I was chased to my car and I felt very disrespected. We were having a conversation about coming back right before that encounter happened and we have changed our minds. Working in restaurant, I know it’s very disrespectful to chase down a customer because of a bad tip or something, and I would never disrespect a customer like she did to me.

Never saw lamb from vertical rotisserie look or have that texture
Must be from sisco truck it wasn't slices but kind of rectangular piece. Idk how anyone could or would cut it that way
It was also mushy, kind of pre- masticated.

Service was fast , but that’s not saying much . They straight tried passing off Lipton powdered tea for Lebanese Tea. I ordered the dinner for 2 & I highly doubt it was the Lamb , it was beef! I eat lamb on a regular basis & knw the difference. Place is always dead , they used to have some Greek seasonings at the table now they don’t serve that either. The waitress was about as bland as the food . It was good at one time , but after yesterday, I’ll never go there again . Don’t waste your time or money anywhere else is better than this place .
My favorite Middle Eastern restaurant in the city.
Very friendly and welcoming staff.
The food is authentic and flavorful. Everything is well made and delicious, ranging from the appetizers to the entrees. The tabouleh is the best tabouleh I have ever had in New Orleans. I have never had a bad experience at Phoenicia. Highly recommended!
