Trekking Pawns

Hello, The Trekking Pawns here! We know it’s a fast food spot, but we just had to try Raising Cane’s while in New Orleans!

First Impressions
Walking in, the vibe was fun and inviting—it had that Red Robin-style décor, but with a New Orleans twist, featuring local sports team memorabilia. The menu was straightforward and simple, which we appreciated. No overwhelming choices—just chicken done right.

We went in around 3 pm and the place was not crowded, tables were clean, but still a steady stream of people coming in (and in the drive through) for food.

We ordered:

The Chicken Sandwich Combo 🍔
The Chicken Fingers Combo 🍗
The food came out fast, fresh, and hot—exactly what you want from a fast food spot. The chicken was top-notch, just like Chick-fil-A quality, with a crispy, well-seasoned breading and tender, juicy meat. The fries? Pretty standard, but the real game-changer? THE SAUCE.
For a fast food joint, Raising Cane’s absolutely did not disappoint. We’re glad we gave it a try in its hometown, and honestly, we’d eat here again in a heartbeat.

The Sauce – The Star of the Show!
New Orleans knows how to do sauces, and Raising Cane’s is no exception. Their signature sauce had a nice little kick (black pepper seasoning, perhaps?) that paired perfectly with the fries, chicken, and even the Texas toast that came with the meal. We were seriously impressed! If only Raising Cane’s sold bottles of it—we would’ve stocked up for sure.
For a fast food joint, Raising Cane’s absolutely did not disappoint. We’re glad we gave it a try in its hometown, and honestly, we’d eat here again when we need a quick bite to eat, especially to and from the airport/rental cars.

I’ve been to this Canes many times, and I usually never have any problems at all, but when I went on Sunday there were a few. I ordered a box combo with lemonade as the drink, pulled up to the window and got put for sprite instead. The lady said she would inform them that I had gotten a lemonade, and not a sprite to resolve the issue, but honestly, she just continued to stand there. I reach the next window where they were not informed at all, and I had to tell them again. The drink wasn’t really a problem, if that was all I’d be perfectly content..but I got home only to find what seemed to be undercooked food. The chicken was hard to eat, and it was clear that both the chicken and fries were undercooked. It was later at night, though, I was hungry and tired after work, so it’s not like I was just going to head back just to fix it. As I said the service is great most of the time, but I had an extremely disappointing experience that day :(.

This canes can be a hit or miss. We went to canes around 4 PM. We usually get the box combo and substitute coleslaw for double Fries. When I viewed our food just to make sure everything was correct the tray didn’t have double the Fries. Someone else made a review of there tray today mine looks like there’s. Whomever was putting things on the plate needs to be shown how to do double the fries.

I go to Cane's almost exclusively for Arnold Palmer tea/lemonade. I used to go to Starbucks, but they can't get the order right, no matter what, and Starbucks prices are ridiculously high for tea/lemonade. Cane's is about half the price, and it's always better than Starbucks. I very rarely eat the food, but once in a blue moon, I get a chicken finger and a coleslaw. I don't get the gross fries or the toast because garlic is gross.
