My mom and I have really liked this spot over the years, but damn! Was that a Bloody Mary? 50 degree beer. What was that smell on the patio?

No wait, though it was raining. Food was fine. Great location and interior. Steaks are not available on the lunch menu.

We came 2/16/24 for belated Valentine's dinner. We got duck wraps, I got halibut with grilled vegetables, husband got filet and fries. Everything was cooked very well. Food was great, service was great, atmosphere was nice but it was loud. Either way we enjoyed and will be back.

We canceled our reservations at Parish to try a new-to-us restaurant, Jay Pappas, and we 100% regret it. The chargrilled garlic parmesan oysters were underwhelming in both flavor and presentation, the steak was burnt and emitted a highly unpleasant smell, and the fried green tomatoes lacked flavor. The only redeeming aspect was the side salads – we ordered two, hence the one-star rating for each. While the service was slow, our server was very nice. I really wanted to like this place, but honestly, I did not. Despite our less-than-ideal experience, I still recommend others try it for themselves.

Driving up to this place right on the river’s edge you get excited about an authentic Louisiana dining experience. And the food dinner disappoint. Blackened shrimp remoulade, beans and rice (perfect taste) and Greek sales with seared tuna (done correctly). I’d come back. The Cajun market attached to it looks good too.Trivia - named after his grandfather “Jay Pappa”. And his other grandfather founded CenturyLink!

We were seated immediately and it's a nice decor. Our waitress was nice and prompt with everything. The best thing was the food. The tastiest thing I've had from a restaurant in a long while. It's become a spot we will go to often. We want to eventually try everything.

I visited this establishment on 11/17/23 with my work group. This was our monthly work outing/birthday month celebration. When we arrived, we were seated. Everything went well there, but it took an additional 15 to 20 mins to get just drinks to start with because there was just one waitress but the funny part was there wasn't anyone else there to be waited on but my group we only had are alloted an hour and 30mins of away time so we went early so we could eat and enjoy our away time needless to say we didn't all get our food until 12 so some of us ate and some of us had to eat fast at the end or take their food to go I spoke to the OWNER Johnathan and advised first off the food was good but the service needs improvement and we aren't satisfied with how our experience was he didn't offer any apology nor would he come over to the table and address my group and discuss any concerns we all had he was more worried about it being grandparents day then making things right with his customers that help pay his bills this was my first time and very last time giving my money that I work hard for to a owner that don't care about how his customers are treated. My reply back:The fact that the owner wrote the response of lies shows me how much he cares about making things right with a customer I have a RIGHT to review how I felt and I never attacked THE OWNER in my review so I'm not sure why he would say I did but these are my opinions and when people visit this establishment you can see for yourself

A party of 4 adults. The food was great and served promptly. Staff was polite and prompt and efficient. I had an old fashioned and I would give it a 3 stars out of 5. Total bill for 4 adults was around $200 with tip. A very pleasant meal in a lively atmosphere.

Relaxing atmosphere. I sat at the bar, and the service was friendly. Steak was seasoned to perfection and cooked at the correct temperature.

We came here for lunch. The food was great. The chicken parm was enough for two portions. The only thing I can say is that trays should be encouraged while carrying food. Holding salads against one’s body isn’t perceived as the the most sanitary way to carry food.

This place has come a long way since the ole River Grille. With Miss V in the kitchen, it's hard to go wrong on what you order. Daily specials every day. Fried chicken, chicken fried steak, chicken parm, fried green tomatoes with lump crab. Mmhmm. Stop in and eat on the patio. Enjoy yourself.
