My friend and I went to the newest location for brunch. It would have been nice to sit in the court yard area outside (wasn’t set up). There was only one server working. Looks like they only had one cook in the kitchen. We have him grace due to the face he was working alone.

We both really enjoyed our brunch and the vibes. I had the jerk children and waffles. The waffles had a hint of cinnamon in it. My friend had ox tails and grits. The musical was overly loud. The thing that turned us off as well as a group of people we chatted with was….. They don’t take your orders like the typical restaurant does. You have to place your own order online via toast. WE DID NOT LIKE THAT AT ALL. On top of that there was no description for the items. I wanted some fresh house made juice. I had to keep getting up from my seat to go to the counter to ask the server questions. Had there were a description I wouldn’t have to keep asking questions. That was an inconvenient for me.

All in all I have been eating from 14 Parishes from the jump. I think they have the best Jamaican food in the city. However, they really do need to remove the ordering when it comes down to toast.

I ordered take out . I went to get it my food and had a hard time finding the place. Absolutely no sign to let me know they were there. I had the jerk chicken with peas and rice and plantations. The chicken was good very moist, yet the rice and peas was dry no moisture to it. The plantations were burnt . I mean black and not edible.

I made a mistake and ordered from the Algiers location but drove across town to the Oak St location. I called ready to go dinnerless and asked them to just give my order to someone on staff, but they went out of their way to call Oak St and had them make my order. The food was delicious and overflowing and everyone was so kind. Thank you!

Authentic Jamaican food in New Orleans? They serve the best brunch I’ve had in a long time. From oxtails to lamb and grits, everything was amazing.

We had a party at 14 Parishes. Between the 6 of us, we tried all of the drinks - which were great. I really liked the mojitos. We also tried a large portion of the menu - wings, fish bites, kabobs, oxtail, goat, beef, pork, chicken. I enjoyed the thoughtful vegetarian options. Everything was delicious!! Our server was personable and attentive, and she was very patient with us. I look forward to our next dinner.

14 Parishes Jamaican is a hidden gem situated by the water in a newly constructed area, making it a standout location. After hearing positive word-of-mouth reviews, we decided to visit for an office lunch outing. The timing was much better than our last place, and our server, Erica, provided excellent explanations of the dishes.

The decor offers an authentic local island feel, rich with cultural Jamaican influences. The bathroom, though striking, was mesmerizing and comforting.

The food was exquisite, with a variety of dishes sampled around the table. The fish was notably fresh. I chose the jerked pork, seeking to revisit flavors from my travels to the islands. One of our colleagues, who had been to authentic Jamaican spots, mentioned an interesting tidbit: while jerked pork is iconic, it’s not always preferred by locals due to its tendency to be dry, with many other fares to be enjoyed.

My meal was flavorful and filling, though slightly on the dry side. As someone who smokes meat myself, I felt it could have been better. However, the overall flavor was commendable. The price was a bit high, but I believe it was justified. The cocktails were perfectly balanced and well-made. I would definitely give this place a high rating and consider it worth a revisit.

Went for Father's Day, everything was exquisite. *Not featured in my photos is the salmon my dad said it was immaculate*. The waffles are unique, it's more like a croffle (croissant waffle). The sauce for the shrimp & grits is a bit on the sweet side so I would request less if that's not your thing. Waitress was so sweet, the place was nice and spacious.
