I'm a local and I like this bar. To clarify, I like this bar for a Frenchman St. bar. It is overpriced and fairly touristy, but they have great music every night that they are open (check their website for days, which may change with the season. The sound is good here, great place to watch a show. I've had friends order the happy hour raw oysters (in season, was $1 each) and rave about how clean and fresh they were. Overpriced, but most bars on Frenchman are comparable. Just the price you pay for multiple great live venues in a short span. They rarely charge a cover, which helps. Please tip the band and staff.

Great staff! Great band! Good bar food! But be prepared for the attendance in the bathroom. I know a little strange. It's not the kind of place that normally has bathroom attendants and especially ones that are asking you to buy. Mardi gras trinkets, but they were in there and can't be avoided since the bathroom is very small.
Not really a complaint but information for ownership after sitting at the high tops in the middle of the room, on stools that are very uncomfortable, it became obvious that the two best tables in the house, with the only comfy chairs, were being occupied by the band.

We went for (very) late night live music and vibes in Aug2025. We saw a very talented and amazing band. The set was soulful and full of energy. The bar food was limited so we just enjoyed the music.

We really liked the music! Our server was very nice and very attentive (only their 2nd night, so bravo).
The vibe of the place was cool, but they may want to stick with a more old school look in the decor to match the music and the brick walls.
The food took a very long time to come out and the drinks seemed slightly weak.
The place had bathroom attendants. This maybe a slightly hot take; but I really dislike bathroom attendants; I feel uncomfortable about the whole experience and in this age of less physical money makes it all impossible. I want people to make a living in a way they can, but the bathroom is a place that we may want to keep unexplored as a revenue stream.
We will come back to see if it was just an off night.
A great place to go on Frenchmen St. We were able to get in immediately, find a place to sit after two or three minutes, and we received service within ten minutes even though it was incredibly busy. The band playing was absolutely electric (and they are there every other Monday, according to them), and our bartender was clearly a professional.
Happy hour ran until 8:45pm, so we enjoyed $5 drafts and well cocktails. We ordered the fried pickles and they were well up to par.
Make this a stop on your Frenchmen Street adventures!
