Holy Smokes. Such a cool location! However, we spent about 15 minutes literally alone in the restaurant... no host, bartender, server... nothing. We could have made our own drinks.
Food is good, very different than the online menu, but nothing super memorable.
Won't be back for dinner... maybe a drink, but it's clear the staff lacks passion.

Excellent location, nice decor and layout..the image it gives is unfortunately let down by the mediocre quality of the food. Bland in taste unfortunately...no clear passion in the food preparation.
Main dish: Blackened chicken was bland in taste, the pasta sauce was grainy and again tasteless..no parmesan cheese. The dish looked put together in a hurry with no attention to the presentation or flavour of the food. Chef should taste what is pushed out to clientele.
Corn bread was delicious as were the Brussels sprouts.
The mushroom and jalapeño starter again was bland in taste although edible.
A disappointment all round.
Although the service was great upon arrival there was no one to greet you..I had to wonder in the kitchen to grab the front house staff's attention.

We really enjoyed our time at the bar, Roshunda and Brittney were very welcoming and attentive bartenders. Not only will we be back to this bar/restaurant on our next visit to New Orleans, but after this experience we will most certainly be staying at Hotel de la Poste again.

Stayed at the Hotel de la Poste for Tales. Not a fan of hotel bars/restaurants for the most part but had a breakfast sando here on of the days and it was delicious. Nice break from the heavy southern creole/cajun food I had been consuming all week. Great service too.

Our food was delicious and our waiter Niko was the best. Celebrating our 15th anniversary there was exceptional. That burger was GOOD

The food was good. The service was better. Friendly from the second we walked in and went above and beyond! Without us even asking.

Legs & Eggs Burlesque Brunch is a super fun way to change up the Sunday brunch routine! 11am - 2pm. Delicious drinks and food options. But mostly just super fun and festive!

First, don't believe the menu on Open Table. There are several items shown that do not exist on the menu at the restaurant, which caused us to sour on the place to start. My wife was very much looking forward to oysters, which they didn't have, which was disappointing. The food we did have, however, was spectacular. The shrimp and grits was excellent, the Gulf fish was really good, and the gumbo was some of the best we had on our trip (we're not native to NOLA). I would eat here again, but I'd temper my expectations based on the menu here.
Real nice place had a great time, sits in the French Quarters 3 blocks off canal street.

I really loved the decor but I was very disappointed oysters wasn't available that is really the reason I wanted to check out the restaurant! Maybe next time

Had to check out the cajun gumbo at 3rd Block Depot after hearing some other NOLA visitors raving about how good it is and soo glad we did. The gumbo was absolutely delicious partly due to the replacement of the traditional rice with mashed potato instead. We were pleasantly surprised how such a small change could impart soo much flavor. If you're a gumbo fan you must try the cajun gumbo at 3rd Block Depot.

Great food and service
Our server was great (despite being the only one working). Food was fine. Short rib had great flavor, but too fatty. Burger was good. Meat pie appetizer was excellent. Beignets for dessert were exceptional. Drinks were a little disappointing. For a place that markets itself as a creative cocktail place, the menu was very short. Cool space and decor.

Mother's Day Dinner and the whole restaurant was a vibe. Let's talk about the food. Everything was hot when it came out to the table and delicious. Will definitely be returning!
We booked a reservation over 1 month in advance for a large group. They gave us a limited menu but since the restaurant was empty other than us and a few patrons at the bar, they said we could order off the regular menu. We all ordered a drink and it took awhile to come. Fair enough, we were a large group so we could understand. However we didn't order our food until we'd been seated for over an hour. Lucky we had a couple appies that we'd ordered right away. After the first person in our group got their food, my short ribs came out 90 minutes later. The server came out after 60 mins and said they couldn't do my short ribs (mind you, short ribs were on the original limited menu they had given us). I couldn't help but laugh and it caught me off guard or I would have said to just cancel it as it was after 9 pm and I wasn't even hungry anymore. Here are the pros: the atmosphere was cool, the manager comped a few of our meals, and our drinks, and gave us 25% off to make up for what was an insane experience. They certainly didn't have to take off the liquor, but I imagine the few staff in there felt bad. However, not once did the server say she was sorry to anyone in our party or me who never got to eat. Honestly, the food was delicious though.
