We had their Toulouse Red out at a bar and fell in love, little did we know it was just the tip of the iceberg. We were lucky to get to try a bunch of the variety of spirits - Each and every one incredible. I've left with a new favorite rum and gin, nevermind the incredible absinthe that started our adventure! Jedd is incredibly talented and wonderful to learn about his spirits from - Cannot recommend enough!!

What a lovely, personal tour. Couldn't recommend this enough! Jedd is a knowledgeable, personable distiller with a clear passion for his products. And that passion shows in the taste! I don't even like gin, but somehow left with a bottle of his barrel-aged gin. He makes everything by himself in the tiniest little studio of magic, and it's all phenomenal. Totally worth making an appointment to go see it. Nice chatting with him and learning about the distilling process.

Great spirits.Worth the drive.

The best distillery in town happens to be the smallest. Every spirit in the tasting was well balanced and elegant. The brandy, single malt and rum were the highlights for me. Highly recommend that you hunt this place down and pay a visit.

Definitely worth a visit. Very hands on distillery and owner has truly created some well-balanced spirits that showcase his hard work to bring quality, artisanal blends to market.

This is a one-man distillery in an out-of-the-way industrial area. It's a labor of love and worth a visit. The owner greeted us and showed us around his small distillery space. He then took us in his office, where we sampled all of his liquors. I am partial to gin, and the Euphrosine 9 was quite good. The owner adds bay leaves to the mix, which gives an interesting savoriness. The red absinthe was new to me and also very good. The addition of hibiscus mellows the strong wormwood/anise taste with some sweetness. The green absinthe, made with the owner's homegrown wormwood, has a strong, pleasant taste.

Cool little distillery hidden in an arts warehouse under the highway. Use their website for directions; bottle sales are 10-2 on weekends. We had samples of everything on offer; the aged gin and the brandy in particular were excellent!

Just Go! While micro-distilleries are still light years behind the craft brewery scene, most small distillers have caught that wave and will be sure to offer their best theme park version of a guided tour in their establishment, compete with samples of their spirits hiding behind a sweet cocktail mix... Atelier Vie is special because the owner is going to walk you through his laboratory-like workshop, showing off whatever he is working on at the moment, and finishing with a tasting of each of his spirits with no mixers, at no charge!! It's clear that Jedd consistently chooses quality over quantity. It took a little effort to find, but that only added to the experience. The website has detailed directions on how to find it. If you're in NOLA, be sure to make the time to visit this place.

Shop local! This hole-in-the-wall absinthe and gin distillery is difficult to find and lacks signage (look for the Art Egg Studio), but worth the trip. The owner will walk you through his process, and you can sample the gin and absinthe afterward. My husband and I particularly enjoyed his barrel aged gin and red absinthe.
