I wanted to try Bésame for the first time in our anniversary., Since I am Mexican I was excited about the idea of coming to this place but I got disappointed. First- they don’t serve micheladas . Second- ceviche peruano has everything but peruano. It doesn’t come with the spicy condiment Peruvians use Cochinita - pork was flavorless and came with flour tortillas… really? Paella- didn’t taste the azafrán, I guess it’s a Mexican paella Service- not impressed
We found this spot when looking for restaurants walkable from our hotel. We made a reservation online then headed over. It seems so out of place in the area because this place was phenomenal! There were six of us, for starters we had the guacamole with chicharron added, ceviche, crawfish queso, and the arepas. Everything was so delicious. The guacamole was probably the best I've ever tried anywhere. The added chicharron really helped put it over the top. The ceviche was so fresh and just a taste explosion. The queso had a nice kick to it and the arepas were excellent. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the appetizers. For dinner our group tried a variety of dishes from the churassco, paella, cochinita, shrimp mofongo. We pretty much all licked our plates clean. For dessert we were so full, but had to split the chocolate tamale and the maduros. Both were yummy! I also tried the Cat 2, which was basically a hurricane. I think it was just as good if not better than I've had at any tiki bar that prides itself in being a real tiki bar. The restaurant itself is very cute. It appears to be a historical space but I could be wrong. Our server was gracious. If you're a fan of Latin food, try this place out. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

We tried all the dishes in the tapas section and we loved them. Perfectly cooked and seasoned! Will come back next time in NOLA.

We enjoyed our visit to Bésame early last Saturday. We had the oxacana ceviche, the queso fundido, and split the shrimp and grits. Everything was fresh and tasty. The service was great at the bar. The restaurant is nicely decorated and clean. We'll definitely return to Bésame to try something else.

We ordered fish & grits and a Mofongo steak. They were both delicious and very reasonably priced. We also got a guacamole tapas which was very fresh. Our server was warm and friendly and the ambience was pleasant. Would definitely recommend going here for a nice change from the cajun food.

Excellent latin tapas restaurant in the upper CBD walking distance from the theatre. Impeccable service and tasty small bites and sangria. A must try when going to a show or out downtown.

Exceptional. We had the crawfish queso and the cochinita. The pork was melt in mouth and the queso was perfection.

we arrived in new orleans today and this was the first meal we had. Our expectations are now so high, this was absolutely phenomenal, some of the best steak and pork we have ever had paired with perfect ingredients. Their desserts were also delicious, i couldnt get enough of the maduros.

It's a great restaurant and conveniently located for a meal before a show at the Joy or at the Saenger. It was my 2nd time there and we got CAT cocktails (a rum drink), the tempura cauliflower, shrimp ceviche, lamb lollipops, churrasco. The lamb came with some odd little green bread-like things which were ok, but not my favorite. The potatoes that came with the churrasco were incredible.
Server Emily was super attentive and knowledgeable.
