Great coffee, very kind and personable service and tasty food! We had the crawfish quiche, turkey egg and cheese croissant and the miel latte. Lots of space and good wifi for working. Owners were very kind to the homeless population in the area when they didn’t have to be which was a great show of character. Will absolutely be back!

I really enjoy everything I grab from Backatown. I love the BLTs, Jammy grilled cheese sandwiches, spinach quiche, zucchini pastries, coffee etc
Great lovely customer service - peaceful atmosphere. I come 2-3x a week. Definitely stop by - sometimes the wait time for items is a bit long but it is worth it - come spend your hard earned money on a local coffee shop with great quality coffee and food.

My sandwich was OK but slightly overpriced for what it was. You pay $9 and get your sandwich in a paper box. The service was non-existent. The guy behind the counter had zero interest in serving customers. Oh, and there were no refills on ice tea... so yeah... I'm not gonna come back

I was staying near here for three days and all three mornings found me at Backatown. The coffee is amazing--I had café au lait and cappucino with oat milk--and the food doesn't disappoint either. The Crawfish Quiche was perfect--buttery crust, creamy eggs, tasty tidbits of whole crawfish tails. The Cranberry Cream scone was likewise amazing, I'm still kicking myself for not trying the Pistachio Rose donut. The room is airy and cozy at the same time, with a great view of the statue of Benito Juarez across the street--if you're wondering what the former president of México has to do with New Orleans head to the Treme Petit Jazz Museum for a history lesson that includes his visit to the city.

This was a good spot if you’re in the area, but I wouldn’t specifically seek it out. I just needed something to fill me up for breakfast, and I enjoyed their vegan rose pistachio donut and chia seed pudding. The flavors didn’t really stand out beyond the sugar, though. Absolutely loved our visit to this coffeeshop! The place is so peaceful and cozy, with pleasant music that doesn’t overwhelm the space. It’s perfect for relaxing or enjoying a quiet meal. They have such a great selection of delicious and healthy options! I especially loved the mini crawfish pie (it was flavorful and fresh). The coffee was rich and aromatic! The tomato soup was excellent, and the bread was perfectly crispy… Total delight! They even have chia pudding, which is a wonderful bonus.
Service was also very sweet and effortless, making the whole experience even better. Highly recommend this place. A true gem!

I came in Saturday and Sunday, which are busy weekend days. There was only one guy working. He took orders, cooked the food and brought it out to you. The place was very busy. He did an amazing job and the food was great. He gets a 5 Star. The owner get Zero. Management should give this man a huge raise for running YOUR business and get him some help. You should be embarrassed for not getting him adequate help. As a matter of fact, you need to be present. After all, it's your business.

This is my new favorite coffee spot! Service was amazing, the iced matcha latte was perfect and the avocado toast was sooo good. You could tell that there’s a true passion for good food and good coffee here. This was a way better experience than any of those boring corporate coffee chains. Support your local Black owned businesses!

We visited a handful of different cafes while visiting New Orleans and this was by far our favorite! Very welcoming, relaxed, and felt homey. The food was very tasty (the scone is to die for) and might be the best cafe au lait we had. Definitely recommend visiting!
(For food, we ordered the sweet potato pie, spinach quiche, crawfish quiche, and cranberry cream cheese scone, as well as two cafe au laits and lemonade.)
