We went for the drinks and was really blown away by the food. This is a place you have to sit at the bar and let the bartenders know you with their knowledge of cocktails and storytelling. Also be on the lookout for the beachbum he is always popping in

We LOVE Latitude 29!!
On a recent trip, we ate there 3 times in 4 days - it's that good. I still fantasize about the Missionary's Downfall too, it's the perfect treat on a hot, humid NoLa day.
Perfect tiki spot owned by one of the greats. You won't be disappointed!

"Latitude 29 isn’t just a tiki bar—it’s an experience. I came to New Orleans for world-class food and jazz, and somehow, this spot delivered both in its own way. The drinks? Absolute perfection. The Pontchartrain Pearl Diver and the Hawaii Five-0-Four were expertly crafted, balanced, and dangerously delicious. But the real surprise? The food was so good, it rivaled the best meals I had all weekend. In a city where great food is everywhere, that’s saying something. Incredible flavors, top-tier drinks, and an atmosphere that transports you—this place is a must.

I can’t say I’d like to be a “Beachbum” on the shore of the Mississippi River, however, you can transport yourself to the Caribbean here. The tiki room feel is well done—from the international tiki glasses at the bar, to the bathroom decor. Staff was friendly and welcoming with some classic and more modern takes on tiki-style cocktails. The Navy Grog had a cone of ice to drink through as a fun addition. Food on the other hand was underwhelming. These small bites seemed thrown together quickly being under or overcooked, and flavors not all being there; especially compared to New Orleans food that is normally so flavorful. I’d recommend coming here mainly for the drinks and vibe.

Our host was our server and he was amazing! He had a rockin’ mullet. Thoughtful, detail oriented, and drive by good ol southern hospitality. Delicious food and very well balanced, tasty drinks. I waited years to come here and I only wish I made it sooner!

Crap service and worse food. 15 minutes for a glass of water, in a place that had more empty tables than full. Our party of 3 was not impressed. There are other tiki themed bars available in the United States skip this one.

Pretty cool concept and REALLY good cocktails. I've been there twice now. Both experiences were good. Super busy, so a reservation is definitely recommended. I sat at the bar both times and received excellent service from the staff.
The cocktails are definitely on point. The garnish alone is something else! If you're in the area definitely check it out.
