Sun Chong Reviews
Ate there tonight .. Ken was so amazing!!! The host as well was fantastic ! Great vibe. Even better food!!! Spicy pork was perfect
I had family say this place was a very nice restaurant. And the gumbo dumplings were not a hit with me and my friends. They don’t tell you that it’s only one bill, that you can’t pay separately. And the tip was added to 3 people at the table. But the Bacos and chicken was delicious. And our server was wonderful (Ayana).
After weeks of researching restaurants for my vacation, I was excited to try Sun Chong. This place is in my top 10 of favorite restaurants in this COUNTRY. This place saved my NOLA experience!!! The etouffee dumplings, the beef bao buns, the Korean tenders…..amazing!! I’m actually mad we found this place on our last night here. I tried to convince my husband to go back hours later. The Cajun and Asian inspired dishes with the absolute heart put in them makes this a must try...read full review

Sun Chong offers a relaxing and friendly dining experience with knowledgeable staff. The bartenders are welcoming, and the food, including gumbo dumplings and crawfish fried rice, is very tasty. The miso glazed brussel sprouts are a highlight, along with the coconut shrimp and Sun Chong chicken, which is considered much better than Neno fried chicken. The dishes are cooked well and have great flavors, with portions suitable for sharing. The atmosphere is cute and inviting, making it a good place to enjoy unique dishes like the gumbo dumplings. Some reviews mention that the ramen and lobster pasta are excellent, and the soup dumplings are highly praised. The restaurant is a nice spot for those seeking a different taste in food and a friendly environment. Guests have also praised the attentive service, with drinks arriving on time and staff going through the menu to help find the right dish. The low lighting and cozy environment make it a great place for date nights, with enjoyable cocktails like Hennessy Honey. Overall, Sun Chong provides a warm and enjoyable setting for trying a variety of flavorful dishes, including the tasty shrimp fried rice, seafood gumbo, and crab Rangoon dip. However, some guests have noted that the dim and poorly lit atmosphere can make it difficult to read menus without a cell phone light, and better lighting such as candles could improve the experience. Despite this, the restaurant continues to impress with its creative fusion of flavors and friendly service.
