Upstairs is my favorite part of the interior design! The wine room is beautiful and a MUST SEE! Im a sweet treats girlie and their white chocolate bread pudding is chefs kiss!🤌 I worked events here, as well as dined as a normal customer. I've always had great service from the staff. They were always kind and helpful!
The food was great but the service a big NO this time around. My wife and I stopped by for 2 Bananas Fosters. We like to restaurant hop when we are visiting NOLA. The Black Duck Bar, Palace Cafe is a restaurant located in a two-story converted bank building on Canal Street, owned by the Brennan family. The ambiance is upscale casual, with a vibrant atmosphere in the large downstairs dining area. The menu features a variety of dishes, including seafood gumbo, shrimp tchefuncte over grits, and andouille crusted fish. Guests can enjoy a delightful white chocolate bread pudding for dessert. The upstairs bar/lounge is a popular spot for raw oysters, cocktails, and dessert. The restaurant also has a nice Sunday brunch, and service is efficient and polite.
Recent reviews highlight a mix of experiences. While some diners have enjoyed exceptional appetizers like crab cheesecake and oyster loaf, others have reported disappointments with cold food. However, management has shown a commitment to customer satisfaction, with efforts like recreating the Ramos Gin Fizz when it was not on the menu. The restaurant is still recommended for a memorable meal when in New Orleans.
