I booked Easter brunch for my family of 4. We always try to support new businesses. After reading a write up on Eater, we took a chance. Sadly, it was sub par. My sons pancakes were over cooked. 3 of the 4 meals came out and then we waited and waited for another. We were told it was bc the waffle was not to chefs liking but when it finally came, it was chewy and hard to eat. I'm sad to say that there are some Kinks to work out and if spending $150 on a meal is something you only do every once in a while, you may want to choose elsewhere.. or get the shrimp & grits. They were actually great.

After having a reservation, the business was not able to accommodate our party of 8, despite us being on time and the ONLY customers upon arrival. The food may have been ok, but it took 2 hours to come out and still was incomplete because everyone had not received their orders. After patiently waiting and politely informing the cook/owner of the wait and unfulfilled orders, she not only blamed the waitress, but was very rude and unpleasant in the process. She was very unprofessional with an even nastier attitude. She then insisted on providing an entree she claimed had already been prepared after being told repeatedly it was no longer wanted after the extensive NOW 2+ hour wait, and had the audacity to still charged for what she claimed was the "preparation of the food". Now at this point we are 3 hours in with appetizers and entrees STILL missing and the bill in hand. As we gathered to pay for this ridiculous service and food that was NEVER received, we were rushed and threatened to have police called if we didn't hurry because of them closing. This experience was HORRIBLE and by far the worst. The overall appearance of the exterior of the place was nice, but the ladies bathroom was unfinished and nasty, the bar had limited drinks, and taste of the food is unknown. We went knowing the place was newly opened and expected some minor delays but would have never imagined the disaster we'd experienced. So disappointing, but BEWARE and proceed with caution at the idea of supporting this business. It's crazy, because when I mentioned my experience to others, it comes with no surprise. If I could give negative stars I would.

We were a party of three on a Saturday evening. The place is cute! The staff was great and was able to answer our questions and accommodate various requests. I had the lavender passion fruit lemonade, which was blended perfectly. Not too sour, not too sweet. For the entrée I had the Dumaine Treat. You can choose to have your catfish grilled or fried for this. I chose grilled. It was delicious! The pasta? Flavorful and creamy. The shrimp? Huge! The catfish, grilled to perfection. I'd definitely come back here!

Zero stars! Went for a work lunch, party of 6. We were the very first table in the restaurant. The server could not locate the lunch menus so we used our phones and the website. We order appetizers and were informed that one of the appetizers was not available. It took 30 minutes to get our appetizer (fancy French fries). After an hour, 3 of the entrees came out. There was no communication from the server on status of the other 3 entrees. Finally asked to talk to the manager. He was polite and gave us a small discount. He should've comped the meals that took 1.5 hours to come out to the table. Food issues: cheddar burger did NOT have cheddar; chicken wrap had a VERY small amount of chicken and tasted charred; chicken parm was NOT chicken parm, had some gray sauce, and a sprinkle of cheese; shrimp poboy had spoiled tomato slices and tails on some of the shrimp.

Atmosphere and people very cordial..Food good , but portion very skimpy...I ordered an omelet and got no bread. When the cook brought the omelets out , I asked for bread ; he brought some he had grilled. As I said , lovely place , but not the place to go if you are hungry.

I cannot believe the appalling experience we had at Blake's Place. Despite being the first customers, we could only be seated at the bar due to their being reservations for the empty tables, we endured a 40-minute wait for our food. When we requested separate checks at the bar, the bartender insisted on a manager's approval, who turned out to be a young white guy (only described this way because I didn’t ask his name). He initially claimed they couldn't split payments, only to later admit they could, but only down the middle. Unacceptable, considering we were seated at the bar and should never have been on a single check. He advised we must adhere to their policy; a policy not posted anywhere in the restaurant or on their menus. When I questioned if it was a written policy, he stated it was but it was in his office and he was too busy to go get it. Then, he acted as if he was calling the police, questioning if “we were going to pay the bill or not”. We told him we never intended on not paying the bill, we only wanted our individual check. After going round and round, he stated they could split the payment down the middle and we could figure out what we owed each other on our own time. We paid on one card and vowed never to return. After the manager walked off, a new employee, only two days on the job, contradicted the manager, emphasizing that he was years of restaurant experience and separate checks are common at the bar. This experience was utterly disheartening and frustrating.

Blake's Place, the latest culinary star to grace Nola, doesn't just serve meals; it crafts experiences. From the moment you sip on their cocktails, a fusion of passion and mixology, you're on a journey. The Dumaine treat is not just a recommendation; it's a rite of passage for every patron, a must-have that captures the essence of New Orleans in every bite. Between these bookends lies an array of dishes that speak volumes of the city's vibrant culture and culinary innovation. Blake's Place isn't just the best NEW restaurant in Nola; it's a love letter to its diners, a place where every visit feels like the first. If you haven't been, you're missing out on a chapter of New Orleans you didn't know needed reading.

The Dumaine treat was good and I recommend it. The only bad thing about Blake's Place was the waiter and bartender. The waiter was not attentive and had trouble keeping up with the orders of the patrons and the bartender was limited in her skills on drink making. But Chef Blake was wonderful and covered for her waiter and bartender to the best of her ability.

I ate here last night for Valentine's Day, and the food was horrible! They Only had one server & the food is pretty pricey. The restaurant was nice, but I was not pleased with the food & nasty drinks at all.

This restaurant is dope. The music and vibes were perfectly curated. I got my food fast. Idk what it was called, something with catfish and shrimp but it was cool. Best part of the night was the bartender, she was attentive and hella friendly. Def coming back with the homies.
