The food is very expensive, the portions are small and the meat got too much heat (overcooked). And overall, i’m sick and f——-g tired of expensive mediocrity.

Blue Oak was a much better restaurant before the pandemic. Once they started experimenting with the sauce packets, it lost its soul and never regained its hard earned glory.

The sides were better than the meat. The brisket lacked depth of flavor. They also don’t do burnt ends. The ribs were pretty good. Sausage had spicy flavor but didn’t seem like it was BBQ’d. Overall seemed like somewhat average grilled meats instead of the smoky flavors and crust that make BBQ BBQ. Glad they are here and one of the better places in New Orleans but wish we had a great true TX BBQ spot.

First off, I will say that my family and I love blue oak barbecue. Today our experience kind of rubbed us the wrong way. It was jampacked because it was a beautiful day outside also, one of the reasons why we went there. There were no seats besides the one next to the pick up window me my husband and my one year-old son were sitting there and just started eating since there was nowhere else to sit. There were two people in line next to us picking up their food, but we all didn’t...
