Easily the best Gumbo I have had in New Orleans, I keep going back because I haven’t found anywhere better. Not a sit down place so don’t expect it, but if you want to try amazing gumbo with a little heat, this is the place.
Tasty gumbo reasonably priced and in generous portion. Shrimps are fresh and cooked well. The owners are very friendly and patient. They speak fluent English and communicate well about food order.
The only reason I do not give full stars has nothing to do with the deli but overall safety of neighborhood. For solo travelers please be careful and watch out when walking alone here.
