Great cheeseburgers and oh so convenient to The WWII museum (literally across the street). The American Sector can fill up quickly so beat the crowds and go across the street to Cafe Normandie in The Higgins Hotel.
Our service was incredibly slow. We were not waited on before a table seated after us, I had to go to the bar to get a drink after 15 minutes of waiting. That said, food was very good and value is good. I think they were understaffed.
We went on Christmas Day and the menu was limited to a small Reveillon menu. Although the meal was good, we might have chosen differently if we had had a full menu. Ana, our server, was wonderful.
While the descriptions of our Christmas Eve, Reveillon dinner courses sounded delicious, they did NOT deliver. The scallops were overly salted and the grits were a gluey mess. The chocolate Yule log was decent but nothing to write home about. Service was ok but our server was not familiar with the menu and couldn't explain what was in the dishes. Maybe the regular menu is better? Sadly, I won't be back.
We enjoyed our Réveillon dinner Christmas Eve at Cafe Normandie. The restaurant is quiet, the service was excellent, and the meal itself was good. The duck was amazing, and the wine prices were decent.
Revelion dinner menu was chosen. Chargrilled oysters were served cold and raw. 2nd course escargot was not much warmer, 3rd course duck and scallops were terrible - Scallops were spoiled Duck had a very off flavor and smell. Did not eat. Server was fantastic and understood that he was not the issue. We paid for our drinks and left with the dessert to go Buche Noel, after getting to our hotel room and trying those we found them to be very dry and not tasty at all. Absolutely terrible experience for our 30th anniversary.
Overall very nice. Incredible hotel, dining. Service good. Menu good. But, as a chef I must point out 2 things we weren't satisfied with. My wife's duck breast was, it seemed, overcooked, a bit salty, not tender. Was it not cooked to order ? Temperature of food seemed like it was precooked, just not hot like it had been just prepared, and there were only a few tables . Same with the 3 scallops, saying pan seared. No visible sear, overcooked, rubbery, not tender & buttery. Nice idea about Hopi grits but came out heavy, gummy.
Don't go there for breakfast.

Great food, great service and beautiful surroundings. Usually hotel food can be run of the mill. Not this place! We could have eaten every meal there! We went for breakfast had pancakes, French toast, omelettes, and the waiter brought beignets!!! Fantastic. Hats off to this restaurant and the hotel as well!
Very good food at this restaurant where we were staying. Gumbo is excellent, blackened redfish the bomb and the sweet beignets were awesome.

We had the most delicious dinner in this beautiful restaurant. We visit New Orleans often and hands down this is one of the best restaurants we have eaten at. The service was so good and appreciated. The food was soooooo good. This is my favorite restaurant now! I am serious! A+. Elegant and quiet dinner.
Excellent beignets and Matthew was great to talk with
Nice setting, early Coolinary lunch allowed for a quieter environment. Easy to converse during lunch.
My server was excellent. She is on every evening, so it was great to have her for my 3 nights. So pleasant, attentive. Food was good, typical for New Orleans with lots of rich sauces. Suggestion to have a few more dishes without the cream/butter sauces
Stylish restaurant at the Higgins hotel. I had the BBQ shrimp and grits that was delicious! Very cheesy and creamy.
