I’m from Huston and I came to New Orleans for Super Bowl and I love the food. The food was authentic! Reminds me of home. Go Cafe Abyssinia! Go taste it because it’s so delicious.
Cafe Abyssinia is a hidden gem on Magazine Street. The atmosphere is laid back and the food is delicious. If you’ve had Ethiopian cuisine before, it will not disappoint. If you’re having it for the first time, they have fantastic combo platters that will provide a wonderful tour de cuisine.

Had the veggie combo + lamb tibs. Both were well balanced and not too salty/oily. The fish injera roll appetizer was really good as well.
Injera a bit sour for my taste. ?Manager? was very nice - she chatted with us a bit. Pricing is also fair for portion size. Would probably come back here if I return to New Orleans.
