What a fun experience to be sitting here. It's a slow moving carousel indeed! I loved the service, the drinks and the food. The vegetable crudite was good and the Hibiscus Poinsetta too.
The Carousel Bar at Hotel Monteleone is an absolute must for us — we go every year for our anniversary, and it never gets old. We always grab the 10 a.m. tour tickets so we can get in early and listen to Michael Dupree share the incredible history of the hotel. We’ve done it three times so far and can’t wait to do it again.

The Carousel Bar definitely has a super chill vibe and it’s easily one of the good bar spots in New Orleans—no question about that. The only hitch is that it can get really packed, especially when there’s live music or some special event going on, and then you might feel like there aren’t enough staff to keep up. They’re friendly for sure, but when it gets that busy you might want to head somewhere less crowded. Overall though, it still gets a five-star nod from me.
