A charming little gem of a place with lots of history, Casamento's is a true old-school Louisiana seafood joint. We visited on opening day at the start of oyster season, and I couldn't have been happier with my meal. I had oysters 3 ways - raw, chargrilled, and fried, and everything was very fresh and tasty. The two daughters that are servers are super sweet, and very understanding of celiac disease/ the need to eat GF. Dedicated fryer is a big plus.

This is an old school seafood spot on Magazine famous for their tile interior and decent to great oysters. The main drawbacks to this place are that they close for the Summer (usually from May-September) and they only take cash so it can be a bit of a hassle. They are a bit unique in New Orleans for not using French bread on their oyster loaf and instead use some stuff akin to Texas Toast they call "Pan Bread" (I also get irked that they seem to eternally be out of creole...
What a huge treat to experience the food and service in this historic restaurant! My father is 81, and he started coming here as a child. Today, he brought my sister and me, for our first meal here. Everything was superb!
