I have traveled throughout the Caribbean and always enjoyed the variations of different foods that are Caribbean staples. We arrived 20 minutes early and asked if we could have a drinks at the bar. The hostess advised that we could order drinks but would have to sit in the lobby to drink them, even though there were numerous seats available at the bar. I ordered the beef pies which were made with black eyed peas and no beef. The menu description didn't include black eyed peas. The fried chicken was so salty that it seemed as if the chef used a box of salt on the one piece. Totally disgusting! On top of it all, I asked for some pepper sauce, wait staff advised they had Tabasco but if I wanted the chef made sauce, it was $7.00 for two tablespoons. I think it was actually Tabasco. Supposedly, this restaurant is up for Michelin star. It doesn't deserve that recognition at all. The only pleasant thing about this meal was the manager comp'd it. I would have paid for it, as I support minority businesses, and I didn't ask for it. He insisted.

Excellent Sunday brunch. Cannot say enough about the gourmet tater tots and biscuits. I will be back.

Ordered chef specials, food average, service excellent, not able to have a conversation, music was so loud! Maybe too many other food experiences to make a return visit!

Excellent ambiance and service, very personable waitress that had tremendous feel and knowledge of the menu. The pig ears were some of the best cracklin I've had and it really was nice with the lime squeeze. The white fish dip was like a trip back to a Jewish deli in NYC, very delicious served with tostones which was a nice twist. The pork belly dish was very well balanced and constructed with very good overall taste to round out appetizers. Entrees were spread across the fried chicken which was by far my favorite dish of the night that came with these coconut grits and a minty fresh cold salad to mix with the bite. Great concept of flavor that was executed perfectly. The goat curry was also very good and known as a staple of the restaurant for good reason another well balanced and unique blend of flavor that just really worked. Great experience and highly recommend.

Amazing experience for our anniversary dinner. The food was amazing (jerked pork belly was unreal), we loved the Ambience, and our server was very nice and knowledgable. They even wrote and signed a happy anniversary card for us! Will definitely come back whenever were in New Orleans again.

Great experience! One dining partner said the Collar was the best thing he'd eaten. Two of us devoured the semolina shrimp dumplings. Cocktails were delicious.

We visited Compère Lapin to celebrate my mother-in-law, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, the service was extraordinary, Michael went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and cared for. His attention to detail, warm personality, and professionalism truly elevated our evening. The food was outstanding, beautifully presented, full of flavor, and clearly prepared with care. Every dish exceeded our expectations, and the overall atmosphere made the night even more special. We left feeling grateful for such a memorable celebration. Thank you, Michael and the Compère Lapin team, for making the occasion so meaningful. Highly recommended!
